At Neely Piano Service we ensure that your piano is not only in tune with itself but is at the appropriate pitch and tuned in a manner appropriate for its age and intended use. Historically, pianos were not tuned in the same way we do today. We are experienced in determining and applying the correct method for your piano-whether modern or historic.
Terry has a lifelong interest in music. Majoring in Music Education at the University of Miami in Florida he studied under Dr Fredrick Fennell, the originator of the modern wind ensemble. In 1987, he and his family relocated to North Carolina making their home in Cary. He began working with a conservator of musical instruments restoring historic forte pianos and harpsichords.

Terry has been taking care of my Pleyel 64-inch grand piano for many years, and everything always goes well. The piano has issues due to previous neglect many years ago, but Terry has been able to re-voice it, replaced all the hammers, and keeps it in tune so I can enjoy playing and composing. I don't know what I'll do if I move or if Terry retires!

Terry Neely is a professional in his trade. He met us to evaluate a used piano we were considering buying and came to tune the piano once we purchased it. Terry came out to tune our upright Wurlitzer very recently, and did a wonderful job. He took the time necessary to do a thorough tuning, charged a fair price, and even gave us advice on how to optimize the humidity levels in our home to hold the tuning longer. He was courteous, professional and very pleasant!

Four years ago, we bought our piano at The Piano Shoppe and have had our piano tuned by Mr. Neely since then. He has expert knowledge about pianos and is very honest, and I would highly recommend him if you need an objective and honest opinion when a purchasing piano. Also, he is a very meticulous piano tuner and has always been courteous when coming to our home.
