So, lately I've had some experiences that have made it clear(er) that I've taken for granted some resources that been "no brainer" reliable. John Pederson at Amazing Grace Music in San Anselmo is the latest reminder. Literally, for decades I have dealt with this man and have referred friends with little reflection. NOW I would like to finally celebrate that relationship.

More of an "instrument owner" than a "player", John has always allowed for my efforts to explain, even though my lingo was "novice". ALWAYS professional and polite, John understood my needs and attended to them. My best interactions with others seem to not require "connecting" and have a "no navigation required" effortlessness(Such as with John Pederson). AND HE'S EXPERIENCED IN HIS CRAFT! Old school craftmanship. Get your guitar back better than new. If you want attention to detail ask John. Low pressure atmosphere. You can tell they love what they do by their work

Great local music store. Got my first guitar from their old store when I was 13. Comfortable layout and helpful service. Ask John to fix your violin or if you're looking to take up Uke/banjo.

Easy to get to. Beautify building, amazing collection of guitars, ukuleles, banjos and violins. Prices are really good and the owner is as nice as they get. He does not do the hard sell. He will tell you when you come in to check out want you want and ask for help when you need it. Take him up on it. Oh, and word has it that he is talented at repairing string instruments.

Deeply thoughtful craftsmen, the Amazing Grace team does expert work on repairing guitars, violins, mandolins, and more. The shop is quiet and civilized. They fixed my broken Taylor dreadnought perfectly despite the complex break in the wood and varnish. Excellent place.

Owners John Pedersen and Judy Kaufman operate this venerable establishment with the greatest love for musicians young and old, the music taught and played there, and the instruments that are bought, sold, rebuilt, and repaired by a master craftsman. Humor, musical expertise, and bedrock honesty and integrity are Amazing Grace's equally important stock in trade.

I've personally bought fine instruments at extremely fair prices over the decades I've visited this store from my home in Southern California, and I'm thoroughly satisfied with the value of each of them. 5 Stars Plus for Amazing Grace!

Always kind and friendly and very likable. In it for the art, not the buck. Broadest selection of new and used acoustic. Fun toys and fine instruments. Famous and respected. They had the time and were interested in my 6 year old who was just starting on the uke.

This store is my go-to for all things musical. From stocking stuffers to technical help on pickup wiring and guitar repair this place has got it going on. John has done turly excellent work on everything I've brought in: From a simple truss-rod adjustment to reparing fine exotic wood inlays, the level of care and craftsmanship has always been beyond expectation. I recommend this shop with out reservation. This is a great place!
