Valley of the Sun Violin has very competitive prices on both antique and new instruments- I've bought and traded four instruments and several bows here over the past 10 years. I always send my students there for rentals- they have the best program with quality instruments and a very comprehensive insurance program that covers strings and anything else. Angelo the owner will do anything to make sure you are happy with your purchase and is very clear about pricing- no hidden charges, and your dollar will go farther here more so than anywhere else in Phoenix.
Friendly and down-to-earth customer service, unlike some overly formal, snooty shops I've been to in other states- where you don't dare breathe on their instruments! Families I send there who know nothing about the instruments always come back learning something new and feel like their students were given special attention. Recommend to professionals and beginners alike!

Sold me a violin for a little over $300, come to find out that it was worth $50 brand new. Doesn't know how to run a business, buy your instruments somewhere else. Update: Frankly you did! Claiming to give me money back yet that's only towards another one of your cheap instruments! When I can, I'll find the exact think you sold me and show you the link where I can get it for $50.00 :

I visited the store yesterday to chat with Angelo. We spoke for about an hour about cellos, instrument construction, pricing and the history of instrument building from various countries over the past 300 years. He was ready, willing and able to provide an in-depth level of discussion. Angelo knows his craft far more than the average, hard working store helpers who are expected to understand the complexities of string instruments.
I'd highly recommend this store for an exceptional experience. He's well worth doing business with, has a tremendous selection of violins, violas and cellos. Theire are selections for every price point. Give Valley of the Sun Violins a try. I'm glad I did.

What a wonderful experience. We had a simple issue and the gentleman here too his time to explain how to fix the violin. He then, proudly, showed us his store.we got great advice and will be taking ALL of our business to him going forward. P.s. I live 45 min from his store and it is worth every minute of the drive.

Angelo is amazing. He is patient, loves music and clearly has a passion for customers and growing musicians. I have a child who has been playing violin for years and we have been renting until I'm sure my son wants to continue. Vallwy of the sun violins has the best rental plan in the valley. On top of the plan rental, which includes size ups exchanges, fixes, case and more. you get a credit towards a purchase. even the purchased violins have a trade in policy.
Just learned that news! Love supporting the mom and pops but it's so nice to have consistency and my boys are excited when they know we are going to the store. Be prepared to have fun!

Outstanding service and instrument quality. Angelo is truly fantastic. Sounds like the one star experience below was because he was conducting some sort of frustrating instrument repair that required more hands then he had. We have dealt with the store for the last five years and never had any problems. Angelo is extraordinarily fair when it comes to children's violins in particular and has plans that convert rentals into purchases and is most understanding for the wear and tear instruments have when children use them. Highly recommend.

Would give no stars if possible. Just called to buy an instrument, said hello and asked who I was speaking with.and got a terse answer "The owner, how can I help you?" Asked if he had name and got "Angelo who is gluing a cello right now". Well Angelo, kiss my oboe, glue your cello, don't answer the phone if you're busy and say goodbye to my money as well. I wouldn't buy a piece of chewing gum from you and I'll pass the information on to my daughter's school and her entire student body. Adios pendejo!
