Milano Music

We are a very musical family! In this house we have a guitar, banjo, ukulele, mandolin, piano, flute, jaw harp, wash board, trombone, drums, tambourine, castanets, tin whistle and probably a few more "must haves" for a hoe down, or if you will, hootenanny! Who doesn't love getaway music played on the banjo?! I love that stuff but wanted lessons.

Back in 2004 I began playing and couldn't have got started without this store! Upstairs there's privacy in little rooms to take music lessons. I got 6 lessons once a week to get me started picking and grinning! Yes you can learn banjo here, bassoon, trombonium you name it! There are teachers here for every instrument they sell and they sell EVERYTHING!

Support this local store. The people are great and they repair instruments too. I've had violin, trombone and flute worked on there. First class work and worth the wait for quality repair work.

Knowledgeable and helpful staff. They sell high quality instruments for good prices and they have in store repair and restoration areas for older or damaged instruments. The rental system is great and you can use rental credits to buy an instrument of your own.

I hadn't been to Milano Music in ages and ages, but since I've started taking flute lessons I've needed a few things so trekked on over. I've been there twice in a month. Customer service is outstanding from in-person interactions to telephone calls. For an in-person visit, parking is a breeze. There is free parking in the rear of the store and enter through the back entrance which is clearly marked. It's kind of cool when you enter and hear music floating through the place.

I wandered over to where it looked like the woodwind instruments were and starting looking for small attachments for my flute that helped with finger positioning. No sooner did I start browsing and a sales associate was there ready to assist. He pulled it from the rack and rang me up. I was in and out in just a few minutes. A few week later, I needed another attachment to ease some pain I was having in my thumb AND I needed an exercise book my instructor recommended.

I first headed up the stairs to an affiliated establishment where sheet music is sold. (Again there, very helpful service.). Back to the accessories: I quickly found what I needed and headed to the register. I wanted to ensure what I had in hand was really what I needed so the sales associate quickly looked it up online and confirmed it was the correct device. Superior customer service! Next, my husband and I took some time to peruse the instruments as he's a guitar player.

There were so many fun looking ukuleles and I wanted my husband to get one since I love the sound. He declined but I'm sure he can be convinced to get one someday. Pricing was from low end to high end with an exceptional variety. All in all, I love this place and will intend to head back whenever I need something music related.

Every one there was VERY helpful and VERY friendly. I was able to rent my daughter an instrument and sign her up for lessons very easily. This place is great and always has been.

I took violin lessons here in 1981? '82? I think the lady's name was Sue. She was very kind and patient with 7 year old me. I'm sure she knew I lied about practicing, but, she was kind and patient anyway. Good memories.

Been renting/buying from Milano for years. Love the store and service! One of our strings broke on a rental violin and brought it in, no questions asked. Swapped it for a different one and sent us on our way. Very fast and courteous!

John helped me today with a complex billing issue. He handled it so quickly and took full responsibility. True character shows up when you see how a business handles a mistake. I've always loved Milano and their history in the valley and now I love them more!

A staple of Downtown Mesa. Milanos should be a stop on any visit to Mesa, even if you're not a musician. The variety of instruments, the towering walls of horns and guitars, windows into the repair shop - it's just a neat experience. I'm biased since I have been coming to buy gear here for over 20 years, but I'm still proud to show it off when out of town visitors want a trip to Mesa.

Always great coming here! The staff is amazing from picking music books to instruments and gear. Love them for the last 20 years.

Such excellent service. It's a wonderful place to go if you enjoy music at all. So many things that nowhere else local really sells anymore. 100x better than online, especially the uncaring, full of junk and scams Amazon. Here you get people that care, and you can enjoy with all 5 senses the awesomeness of a great music store. :

Dave and Milano Music went the extra mile and helped me get parts for a drum kit I'm in the process of getting fixed up. I'm a relative novice, so Milano going the extra mile and getting me bonus support is priceless. They've found a lifelong customer for that extra effort. Kudos!

Great store! I was looking for some books, the didn't have them but they ordered them and the books arrived pretty fast! Also bought two instruments from here. Honestly, the best music store in the valley-maybe even the state!

Best diverse music store. I'm a guitarist and there's never a lack of cool stuff to stare at and wish you had.

Went there to trade a guitar. Johnny was very helpful and fair with the trade. It was a pleasure working with them. Highly recommend them.

Hubby wanted a new guitar for Christmas so we went to a couple of other music stores before ending up at Milano. It was the perfect, right place for hubster. Guitar guy was very knowledgeable, spent lots of time helping select the correct guitar for hubby's wants/needs. Meanwhile, I just hung out, enjoying the Christmas decorations. I was approached numerous times by several other staff, asking if they could help me find anything, offering water. SO kind! We will return to this store for any future musical needs. Awesome customer (and spouse) service!

I'm not really a "music making" kinda person so I haven't really shopped at Milano but I did take some violin lessons (and rented a violin) years ago. The sound of the violin called to me and I had some open time over a summer. Recently my daughter took some singing lessons there and the teacher was extremely patient. Both lesson sets were great experiences, easy and frictionless to setup and cancel when needed. Will use Milano again for future music needs, for sure.

This is the heavens for instruments. Such a great variety I recommend this for any band students.

I had such a wonderful experience here last week. I had been here a few years prior, and remembered that the selection was quite good. So I set out on a weekday afternoon just to see what they had in stock. And I am glad that I did. The owner greeted me as if he was an old friend. Not in a tacky way at all. It was very sincere and I enjoyed that. I looked at their electrics, and they could tell that I was more of an acoustic player, so they unlocked the acoustic room.

From there, I had some great conversation with John. I could've chewed the fat with him all day. He was nice, unassuming and knowledgeable. He encouraged me to pick up anything that I wanted to, and I fell in love with this pre-owned GORGEOUS Takamine Parlor guitar. It was a custom shop piece that sounded and played wonderfully. Although I had no intention of buying anything, it took me very little coaxing to get a new acoustic amplifier. I trusted Johns advice and enjoyed the whole experience. He even gave me a free strap. I will be back. You guys are top notch. Totally old school in all the right ways!

I've been shopping at Milano Music for decades. This is an Arizona institution, carrying so many varieties of music related items as well as offering instrument rentals and lessons. I used to buy music books and sheet music here, as well as violin accessories. My most recent visit was to browse for electric guitars. The gentleman helping was so helpful and informative. He also teaches guitar lessons so he's one cool guy! The prices here were comparable to what you'd find online. Ditch those giant chains and come here instead!

We have rented from Milano Music since my daughter was in the 5th grade and she just graduated high school. During that time part of our rental payments went into an equity fund that just allowed us to get a brand new Alto Sax worth $2000.00; and they threw in a box of free reeds! Wonderful rental experience;and, now that we no longer need the rental, a wonderful in store experience that allowed my daughter to own a beautiful Alto Sax of her own.

Wow, customer service is beyond my expectations. 6STARS Ask for Mike, he is great at finding what your trying to look for. Extremely kind, and patient. I have been looking for a hand pan/ hang drum for a while. I asked politely if there was a way to send some pics since I have a busy schedule and live across the valley. He didn't hesitate but to jot my number down and send me pics of what they have. Even if I don't purchase a drum from them, I appreciate their value to help customers beyond their expectations. Keep it up team.

Good selection of guitars and amplifiers. The exception is that most of the guitars are locked behind the amplifiers. And, if you want to try one out, you have to ask a salesperson who is usually busy with another customer or on the computer up front. And when you do ask, they just hover over you.not cool, man. I do have to give kudos to the guitar repair staff. They seem to know what they're doing. Good selection of drum accessories.

These guys are great! I'm not used used to this level of customer service from a Music Store these days. After talking with Dave about trading-in some items, I was impressed that he got back to me within a couple days with researched numbers and an offer on the item I was interested in. Their prices seem competitive to me, they do trade-ins, have a large selection of gear, and friendly, professional staff. I wish they were in my neighborhood!

Nice shopping experiencePerfect piano stand and music stand. I'll keep buying staffs at here. And the most important thing is it near to ASU. It's convenient for students to get here.

Within a half hour, I left with a new ukulele and I wasn't even going to get one. Nice selection, good customer service, and nice experience.

All the staff here that I noticed are musicians and they know their music and I could tell they love music. Plenty of free parking in the back and I never seem to have any issues with parking here. They rent instruments to local schools and their price is fair. Service is always good and any issues with rental, easy quick stop for prompt resolution. They sell new instruments and wide variety of options are available. One stop for all your music needs

Remember when music stores sold everything? Like sheet music, flutes, real instruments, along with that new fangled digital keyboard? Had a wall of guitars and people to help you? This is the kind of store that when you ask a question, not only does the sales guy answer you with knowledgeable replies but another salesman hears you and gets samples of the product you are asking for!

They do not carry high end esoteric products but they carry stuff people can afford. They place has been around a long time and occupies nearly a block along with being partners at other places across the road. This is the kind of store you remember, the type that you wished still existed. The type with free parking! Keep going there guys!
