If you want to know why, I wont publicly shame the whole store over one person in the store. Overall this is a good business. I just happend to be singled out by someone in the store that if continued with others it will give the store a bad name. It's all in who you know. Thank you to the kind gentlemen that was more than polite with me.

Took my trombone in to get the slide re-realigned and they had it for over a week and a half when it took them 3 days to get it "fixed" and when i started playing some music, the slide seemed worse than before. It cost me 65 dollars for them to do nothing with my instrument. I took it in again and they said there was a dent on the slide and again, they "fixed" it and still, the slide was still dented and it was still out of alignment. What a waste of money.

This place is among the most amazing music stores I've ever been to in this century. Back in the 20th Century, stores of this calibre were more plentiful. In recent decades, they've become nearly extinct. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable. It's not unlike visiting a museum. It's worth a trip there just to see what they have there.

I have always found them to be very friendly and helpful in relation to buying items needed for my daughter's instrument. I did not rent the instrument there because I was able to get a really good price on a used wooden one at a pawn shop. I see all the reviews where parents are angry about the rental prices so I would say it pays to shop around when it comes to the instrument itself, but as far as repairs or parts, Pellegrino is great

I was highly disappointed in this store, as a professional musician I spent big money in this store and every time I go in they always ask when checking me out out if I have ever shopped here before! Purchased a $3,000 professional clarinet and numerous music accessories over the years. I went in awhile ago in seek of a brand new piano. I got little to no help and no one in the store took my business seriously. I ended up buying a brand new piano else where. I shop at this store because it is close to my house and I can't always drive to Cleveland for clarinet reeds.

Parents beware. They don't tell you at the school meetings that you MUST have a major credit card or a co-signer with a credit card or pay a $250 deposit to rent instruments. They were not helpful and although they push music and how music makes you smarter. They are only interested in the dollar. Look around and don't go to pellegrino just because they have all the school districts in their pockets. Go get a used instrument instead

BAND PARENT BEWARE - Four years ago my daughter decided to join band and decided upon playing the flute. We heard the pitches at the band presentation by the various musical instrument stores and decided upon Pellegrinos because they were located close by. Because of scheduling, we didn't get to their store until a few days before band practice was to start and instrument was required.
Long story short, Pellegrino's indicated that they didn't have any "student" or lower priced flutes and I got roped into to the rental purchase program for a flute that was nearly $900, plus a maintenance and insurance program. I clearly remember walking out of the store in tears thinking I'm spednign all this money and I don't even know if my kid is going to like band.
I threatened my daughter she couldn't quit until the darn thing was paid off. Fast forward four years and I made the last "payment" on the instrument. I come to find out today that there was a maintenance plan available for $54 a year and instead only $15 of my $25 monthly payment has been being applied to the flute for the last 28 months. hmmmm. $10x28 months = $280 + $4(rounded up)x18 months = $72 Totaling $352 for maintenance on the nearly $900 flute, making our flute cost almost $1300 total.
Only $21 of the $25 was being applied to the instrument for the first 18 months, then it fell to 75% of the $21. Ugh! Pellegrino's bill themselves has having a large selection of student, intermediate and professional model instrument at discount prices for purchase or on a rental purchase program. I wonder how many others are told that they are out of the lower priced student versions? And PS. They don't buy back the well maintained, by their own technicians, high priced instruments to sell as student versions. SHOP AROUND!
