We have bought a new Yamaha CVP805 from Ela Fox and we are amazed on her efficiency and service. She is super good at giving us recommendations for the pianos and trying her best of finding the best piano matching our needs. She has offered us a great price and even one-day shipping for my piano. The aftersales service are fantastic. We had questions about our piano and she replied immediately.
We have not expected that she will answer our question even during the weekends. She is so kind that she uses her own time trying to find the answer to my questions. I would highly recommend that you check out this store and the amazing services.

I just purchased a Yamaha S5X from Pianos Plus and had a 5 star experience from beginning to end! Ela gave me the most competitive price period. She was also very helpful with explaining everything to me and answering all my questions. I'm a piano teacher and will refer all of my students to deal with Pianos Plus.

I went here for rental. They had good pricing for rental and Ella is very knowledgeable and gives good advice. I got good customer service. I was going to get a rental, but the personal details required on their paperwork was too much - SSN, salary, Employer in addition to DL. It was like getting my credit check done by a non-credit agency. This went too far and I didnt complete the transaction.

This is a great piano store that's been in business for over 40 years! Ela helped me choose the perfect piano for my needs. She has enormous knowledge on all types of pianos, both traditional and digital, and she made the process of choosing a piano really fun and easy. It's refreshing to meet someone who really knows their stuff and gives you exemplary service! And, their delivery guys were pros and set up my piano fast and professionally, as they only deliver pianos. Thank you, Pianos Plus!

Don't let the exterior of the store stop you from going in. I initially had some hesitation because the place looks so small. Long story short, we bought a Yamaha CLP from Ela about a month or so ago. Had an excellent overall experience. We've been looking at a specific model for a while and had been window shopping initially but after talking to Ela and some negotiating, we settled on a price which to be honest is the best out there.
We shopped st the big brands that claim they have sales going on but when we tried to shop the quote that we received with other shops, the competitors flat out said the price is awesome and that we should go for it. However it wasn't just the price for giving them a 5-Star, Ela walked us through the delivery process and when we didn't get the expected appointment phone call I texted her and she not only immediately responded but she jumped on the phone to the owner of the moving company.
Piano was delivered as promised at the appointed time. Ela also followed up with us a few weeks later to just check how things are going. If we are to purchase another piano, I will definitely go to Piano Plus and ask specifically for Ela. She's fantastic!

I was in the market for a Yamaha U3 and only wanted to deal with an authorized Yamaha dealer. The local dealer in San Jose was having one of their sales, but I wanted to check out another dealer to compare prices, so I drove up to Castro Valley to see what Pianos Plus could offer. Vince was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and gave me what appeared to be an extremely competitive offer.
When I presented the price Pianos Plus offered to the San Jose dealer he knew exactly where I had been, and commented that he did not know how Pianos Plus was able to offer the prices that they do. In the end, though, after much complaining he offered a better price. Buying a piano is like buying a car. You really have to negotiate the best deal by visiting more than one dealer.

Absolutely disgusting. My mother had bought for me a brand new Yamaha that was $4000 before the visit today. After some complicated moving back and forth between South Korea and the States, we had left that Yamaha and was looking for a used, yet still good in quality, piano in the $1000-$2000. We learned that this was impossible, the hard way, thanks to Pianos Plus.
The person who worked there offered us an upright from the 1940s, all battered up, the paint on the keys worn off, and barely had the feel of an upright at all. But the price that was offered? $2500-$2900. The explanation was that it was in good condition (by obvious judgment, that is not true), and he went on about how it was made during WWII. We were then shown another piano, which had the D2 key split in half, and all of the keys' strings loose.
The offered price was $500, and everything else to take care of it was at our expense. This meant that the actual cost of the piano, including fixing the piano, would be well over $1000. In the end, we did not purchase. We found a 10-year-old piano that was for $500, and all it needed was fixing one loose string, some tuning, and getting rid of some notation stickers on the keys (which is free of cost).

I Like Yamaha in PIANOS Plus because it looks good, made in Japan, authorized Yamaha piano dealer, and it was in good condition. Digital pianos like Clavinova have wood inside and plastic keys Clavinova Traditions (CLP) like CLP-585PE and the Clavinova Ensembles (CVP) like CVP-709PE and looks good sound and looks good.

We decided to check this place out base on referral even though it is a little far from out from our house. We went and made an offer for a new Yamaha U1, the sales person called back later that afternoon and agreed to our offer. When we return to the store the next week, the sales person wants to charge $300 more than the agreed upon price. First he said it is due to sales tax rate which is only $20 difference.
Then he said it is because accounting calculate the price. Last he said it is because Yamaha did not approve the price and that we are stil getting a good deal. While $300 is not a big amount considering thousands were to be spent, we feel the sales person just agreed on the price to get us back in the store and then increase the price when we come back. We did not make the purchase. If the store cannot keep their words on the agreed upon price, can we really trust them on anything else?

Purchased a Yamaha YUS5SH for roughly 14.7k + trade in the old piano for $4k (total cost $18.7k). Then discovered that I can buy the same piano, YUS5-SH somewhere else brand new for $14k flat locally. My fault for not doing price comparison. Got my refund so I am bumping up my review to 3 stars instead of 1. edit. received my new piano fairly quickly. Manufacture date code shows 08-2015.
Definitely not super old stock and I witnessed the unboxing of this brand new piano. Also price increase was only a couple hundred if purchased after july 1, 2016. Shouldn't make that much off a difference.

I am thinking of buying a Weber grand from a friend and wanted more information based on the serial number of the piece. I found Pianos Plus not he Weber website and called them for information. They were EXTREMELY helpful with helping me find out more about the piano and referring me to a local moving company to pack it into a U-haul. What great customer service. I would highly recommend them and their friendly staff!

It is hard to find a good retail music store these days in the era of Amazon and online vendors. I feel that the owners of this store really care that you have a positive experience. Clearly they love music and try to help you develop that same appreciation for music and playing music. Mr. Engel will make sure that you have excellent customer service. I highly recommend them.

I found it extremely weird and unprofessional that yelp only posted 2 "recommended reviews". One is 5 stars and one is 1 star due to a dent. However, there were 28 "NOT recommended reviews" posted by consumers all around the bay area, all rated the company 4 and 5 stars (mostly 5 stars). If those reviews were taken into consideration, the rating of this company would have been much higher.
Now I am starting to question about Yelp's Neutrality in all of these services. How do they determine the standard of what's recommended and what's not? FOr my personal experience, the piano store has been great! I bought my yamaha grand 10 years ago at a very good price. I then introduced my piano students to buy from them. Recently, another friend of mine also went there to buy one after i stopped teaching for 7 years. They still offered the same great price with excellent services. Great job, team, and please keep up the good work. Will definitely recommend you.

Beautiful selection of pianos at pianos plus. I think i spent two hours in the store admiring all the different Yamaha pianos, digital and acoustic pianos, and used pianos which are great deals, you'd never know they were used because of the great condition Pianos Plus keeps them in. If you like pianos or are looking for a piano i highly recommend going into this Castro Valley gem.
