Pickle Piano

I bought a Korg G-1 Air from Pickle Piano, and Matt was extremely kind and very social. There are so many pianos in this place it's unbelievable. I also go for lessons here, which I will NEVER regret doing. Making this decision to go to Pickle Piano was the best I've made since I've taken up classical piano myself. I wouldn't go to any other piano store as I would think you would NEVER get the quality of service there as you would here at Pickle Piano. If I could rate this 10 stars over 5, that's what I'd put.

This company picked up a piano for one of our customers and we have been trying to get the piano back and we haven't been able to get anyone to give us a call back we left several voicemails and they only returned a call to one of our ex-employees telling her they will return the piano some day next week but the week is over and we still cant get the piano back- the person who called my ex-assistant said they we were getting a discount!

I don't even know why are getting charged if i have been trying to get the piano since feb 21st And nobody has been able to return my call to schedule a delivery date/time Please return my call and our piano

I have bought two pianos from the store over the years. I feel I was treated fairly. They have a nice inventory of new and rebuilt, big name pianos. If you are looking for a piano dealer I definitely would check them out.

Matt is extremely informed on pianos and organs. Pickle Piano has an outstanding selection, very competitive pricing, but more importantly - they stand behind everything they sell with supperb customer service.

I don't like when people waste my time. Their website lists a ton of new pianos from top manufacturers, but when you arrive you'll find not a piano store, but a barn packed with mostly old junk, so much that you can barely squeeze by old items in various state of repair. Yes, they have the following disclaimer: "Please note that because our inventory can change quickly, the pianos listed here may or may not be in stock.

Please contact us to verify that the piano you are interested in is in stock before visiting us to view a particular piano." I guarantee you the new piano you are looking for is not in stock. It's not a case where some items may not have been updated. No, it is completely bogus. They simply do not have any new pianos at all. Pretty much the same situation for used inventory--most are not there.

On the entire floor, I only came across 3 very old overpriced used pianos that were marginally interesting, the rest were just firewood, and considering the environment they are in I would stay away. Oh, and the repair tech they use had a hard time keeping balance and sounded like he was high on something. I would NEVER let someone like this to even touch my piano let alone fix it.

To make this review a bit more constructive and helpful to people looking for a new or good used piano, I would recommend visiting the following Chicagoland area stores: American Music World in Elmhurst (mostly used pianos), Cordogan's Pianoland in Geneva (used and new), Heavenly Pianos in Arlington Heights( used and new), and even Grand Piano Haus in Skokie (upscale new and used, if you have money for a wonderful Schimmel).

Matt was kind enough to meet us at his store after returning from delivering a piano in Pennsylvania on the same day. We spent about an hour disussing the posibity of rebuilding my 1931 Conover 77. Matt's has an in depth enthusiasm, knowledge and historical appreciation of pianos from the golden era which surpasses mine. Places like this are becoming a rare commodity and worth patronizing. I'm very much looking forward to working with Matt. Michael F.

They have everything from budget-friendly refurbs to high-end stuff I dared not touch. The owner and employees (we met everyone!) were knowledgable and their passion for pianos was obvious! The refurbished piano we bought at Pickle Piano was delivered that same afternoon. It sounds wonderful and looks beautiful in our living room.

I bought a piano from Pickle 20 years ago, and it's still working well. I was just driving around when I noticed the sign, and thought I'd check it out again. They have loads of pianos and organs, with a few grandfather clocks thrown in as well. Prices aren't always clearly marked, and they always did seem a little high, but they refurbish older pianos and make them sound as good as new, so in the long run, it's worth it.

My family purchased a Petrof Grand Piano from Pickle Piano. Fantastic business in so many ways. The customer service: attentive, knowledgeable, kind, and patient. The pianos: so much variety in brands and pricing. New and used uprights and grands. Organs are sold here too! They also have moving and tuning services. Even more, I've been taking piano lessons here for years now and it's really been great. Highly recommend this establishment.

Had them move a piano from a friends to my house. Move itself was fine. Movers were early, but they did call ahead to give us a warning. Only issue is with owner, would not honor pricing quoted by another one of his employee's. I was originally given a price if I moved the piano on it's own and another price IF they piggy backed with another delivery.

I found out after I gave them the go ahead at the ON ITS OWN price that they were piggy backing my move with another. Owner would not respond to my inquiry on why I was not being charged the piggy back rate. So my only word of caution would be to be careful what you agree to with them upfront.

My family bought our piano from here nearly 2 decades ago when I was a wee piano student. My familiarity with Pickle caused me to reach out to them now to inquire about moving said piano from my parents' home to my own home. I filled out an online inquiry on 2/7. When I didn't hear back 4 days later on 2/11, I decided just to call them and speak to someone directly.

The gentleman on the phone apologized and said he was out last week, then he took my info, said he'd look for my inquiry, and get back to me with a quote in 15 minutes. I have been waiting for that call for 5 days. So, perhaps they still sell fine pianos, and maybe their in-person customer service is better. But this was my recent experience. Needless to say, I've arranged for another company to move my upright.

I have used Pickle Piano and find them an extremely ethical group of folks. I would strongly recommend using their services. There is no one better than them in the piano business.

These guys were great, they were twenty minutes late but called ahead of time to let me know. When they arrived they called me to find out where to park, they were very accommodating. The condo building we were moving the piano out of has a lot of rules and the movers followed them all. So that was awesome, I didn't have that awkward embarrassed feeling when movers just do whatever they want.

I hate that! No damage to the condo or building either. The piano we were moving isn't worth a lot but it was my grandmothers so we wanted to keep it. The total moving time was less than a half an hour, they were prepared and ready. They even followed me to the storage unit and put the piano in our unit. The price was really fair and I was surprised by how much the gentleman knew about the company and the piano itself. I will totally use them again when we need to move the piano again.

My family has had a long-standing relationship with Pickle Piano. We got my first, cheap-o little upright piano there when I was 6, a mid-range upright piano around the time that I was 10, and a stunning Rieger-Kloss grand piano around the age of 16. We always went back for the friendly, knowledgeable staff and unique inventory. Much to my dismay, my parents were tired of my beautiful piano sitting in their front room untouched (unfortunately I don't have room for it in my condo) and wanted to sell it.

We stopped by Pickle one afternoon to ask them what they estimated the resale value of the piano to be. Them: "Well, we would have to send out one of our appraisers." Me: "Can you at least give us a range? You have the record of the purchase date and model number, and I would classify the piano as being in perfect condition." Them: "We cannot say anything without a proper appraisal." The cost of this appraisal would be $500+. So, the fact that we dropped $15k on a piano and have never once asked you for anything means nothing? I still adore my piano (and have since convinced my parents not to sell it) but after all these years, Pickle has left a sour taste in this girl's mouth.
