Dundee Music is owned and operated by professional musicians. We offer private music lessons on guitar, bass, piano, drums, vocals as well as band and orchestra instruments. Through our partnership with Music & Arts, we offer a complete line of band equipment, and work closely with the school districts programs to provide you with the instrument you need for band or orchestra.

We are located at 7 E. Main St. in the historic district of East Dundee. Our main emphasis is on our teaching program. All of our instructors are professional musicians with many years of teaching and performing experience.

Lessons Report

Professionals Sandy Gilson or Hannah DeLaughter will have you reading & playing piano music. Hannah has a degree in music from The King's University in Texas and was classically trained in piano for 15 years. Hannah loves teaching and can't wait to help you learn and grow in your skills!

We carry a wide range of sheet music for all types of instruments including guitar, drums, piano, trumpet, sax, oboe and flute. If there's something we don't carry we can easily and quickly order it for you. We also carry accessories including tuners, strings, cords, instrument stands, straps, sheet music stands, guitar picks, instrument cleaner, guitar effects pedals, amplifiers and drumsticks.

This is a great little store - a hidden gem. Dan M. who runs it and teaches is a great guitarist and teacher. He also has a great line of instruments including rentals for school kids.

I've been a student at Dundee Music for just over a year and I have enjoyed every lesson. Dan, the owner is very personable and interest in my success. The store has a very good selection of music supplies for most instruments and quality instruments for sale and rent. You won't be disappointed.

Went in to find a gift for a friend that plays guitar. Found a great clip on tuner that was perfect. Staff was friendly, and had good advice. Was a great experience, nice to shop local!

Working musicians that gig weekly, bringing their expertise to music lessons. Friendly, and great with students, this is the place to really learn music, and learn how to play your instrument. My sons have been taking lessons for years here (drums & bass), and are now playing gigs! We LOVE Dundee Music.

Top notch guitar instruction here! Bruce Waters is one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable instructors you'll ever find. I even got to perform with Bruce and he is a true professional. Song was in a different key and he flawlessly transposed it as we sang it. You will really learn guitar the right way at Dundee Music, actually reading music, not tabs, A+!

I play Violin and I started there. The teachers are great! They are all very nice! The books are advanced and Essential Elements is too easy! It gets you really good really fast! I have played for two years and I am really good that I surprise people, especially orchestra students! I recommend this place to everyone!

Finding a music store that does not charge an arm and a leg can be a challenge! These guys are close and reasonably priced however the guy has a real chip on his shoulder and an attitude that makes me want to walk right out! Seems like crankiness is a problem for old guys who do the same thing for too long. Over all experience not so good. But if you need an instrument repaired you will pay more taking it elsewhere!
