Freehold Music Center was started in 1951 by J. Michael Diehl, we started out as a record and accordion store in down town Freehold. Through out the years we continued to sell a wider selection of instruments and we had to move out of down town because we needed more room. The Freehold Music - Pianos is located at 4237 US 9 N Freehold and is owned by the Diehl Family.

I was in the market for a new piano. I compared prices with a few different stores in the tri-state area and let you tell you that Freehhold Music had the best price by far. Everyone there was a constant professional. Chris, Justin and their team made everything seamless. There was a small issue during delivery but Chris was able to remedy that quickly. So if you are in the market for a piano, look no further than Freehold Music. They are the best in the business!

Their piano moving service really let us down. We engaged them to load an upright grand piano into a moving truck for a cross-country move. We needed it moved in first so the heavy, delicate piano could be properly positioned up front and we could put everything else in around it. They gave us a 3-hour appointment window and failed to show up. When the appointment time passed, we called, and they said they didn't have it written down, their movers had gone home, and they didn't have a time available for the next day either.
Since our moving helpers were coming the next day, 2 or 3 days later would just not be good enough. We were forced to call around at the last minute to try to find someone else to come load it in during the next day. Very upsetting, and they were unprofessional in that they refused to help fix a problem they 100% caused.

I have worked with many music stores and this is by far THE BEST place I have ever worked with. I bought the most beautiful piano, got the best help and the move was painless and professional. I cannot recommend Freehold Music Center enough! It is a wonderful place and I felt welcome and we were just taking such good care of. These are hard times with COVID-19 and Chris could not have been more helpful and made sure everything was alright before he left (They also move the instruments!) He was kind, professional and I if you are ever looking to find a good instrument along with advice from an expert, this is the place to go! I am happy, safe and can keep my business because of him!

Went to freehold music center looking for a piano, i was unsure undecided on which upright to choose. Chris was wonderful! Very helpful and answered all of my questions. He took the time and showed me various models without being pressured. My experience with this store is 5 stars all the way! Been going here for years and now my son too. I guess that makes us first and second generation customers. These places are a dying breed so I prefer supporting local businesses than buying online somewhere out of state. Dave is a good guy, very knowledgeable of the gear they sell and always helpful. Need more salespeople like him, especially in the music industry.

My apologies to FMC for not updating my review sooner. After all was said and done, they replaced the piano with another that I am very happy with. I think I got a better deal then I should have because they were in the moving process as well. I would now highly recommend these guys. I look forward to seeing their new place of business. They had a HUGE selection when they were in Freehold and I hope the have the same at their new home. Thanks again, Larry.

This is a great store, with a good inventory. How they can maintain this inventory, especially pianos in these economic times is amazing. David in the guitar/drum section has been a great help to me as a returning musician. He's very knowledgeable about drums and guitars and easy / fun to work with. Prices are reasonable and competitive or better than any I've seen posted on the internet. Make this your local music store, you won't be sorry.
