Great service! Renting the perfect starter violin for my 4 year old.

I had the privilege of meeting with violin maker and musical instructor Erika Safran Sahar, who provided me with a most excellent introduction to the cello, of which I have great interest in learning how to play. First impressions can often make a difference in how you approach your calling to a discipline and art such as the study of music, and I must say that Erika's patience and guidance walking me through trying different instruments, and looking at my posture and technique whilst acquiring a comfort level with the cello, was in a word "outstanding".

So much so, that I am excited about the prospect of learning cello, and am now acquiring an instrument, and have indeed scheduled my first lesson. All in all, a truly wonderful experience. I would say that if anyone finds themselves in a situation where they are seeking answers for their musical instrument needs, the Violin Doctor, along with Erika and her associates, would be a superior choice.

Came here today to get a child-sized violin and wow! This place is magical. Everyone is so kind and you can tell they truly love the instruments. They helped us find the right size. Really happy we found this place! Thank you for a great experience!

I learned violin as an adult, but haven't played in awhile. I needed a new string a d the bows re-haired. Mary Anne was my teacher and helped me today. Everyone there is kind and professional. A nice place for lessons.

The only place to go for rentals, purchases and repairs of orchestra instruments. Professional and knowledgeable. We've rented a cello for a few years from Violin Doctor and will most likely purchase one in the near future. Erika also provides lessons for children and adults in the shop. This is a speciality shop so hours vary and appointments are recommended. The knowledge and service is worth it.

The owners are wonderful people. I have taken my violin to them for repairs and cleaning many times and have always left extremely happy with their work and the experience. The shop is really beautiful, too. Some really nice instruments hanging around.

I asked Erika to change out the pegs on my cello and repair my bow. Not only did she do a good job of that, but she repaired some minor damage to the instrument without my asking and at no additional charge. Definitely a superior experience to other luthiers I've had!

I cannot recommend this business highly enough - they have not only repaired and rebuilt instruments for my own use, but supplied wonderful European violins for my students at good, moderate prices. After hours and miles of searching for Cello strings, I received a call back from the Violin Doctor. Not only did they have exactly what I needed, but were knowledge and polite. Once meeting them and stepped inside their shop it was clear this was a professionally run business.

Absolutely fantastic service, professional and very friendly. You can buy or rent your violin here and the repair service is spot on. Service is by appointment so you better give them a call before you arrive because it might be closed.
