Though Axe Haven began in 1971 as a guitar repair facility you will find much more happening here. If you are in need of any stringed instrument repair you can call Dan at 303-428-1327 or stop by Axe Haven at 7892 North Federal in Westminster, Colorado. Calling first is always a good idea just in case he has stepped out. If you are looking for a place to leave your treasured guitar for a minor adjustment or a major restoration you have found the right place. Browse through this site to see a small sampling of work done by Dan in the past four decades.
Services
Dan's interest in guitars originated in childhood, his family lived on a farm in Nebraska where music and guitar playing were a part of family get togethers. His mother and aunts all played. Dan and his friend played guitar together and started a band while still in high school. They played locally and then in 1961 headed for Denver.
In addition to the guitars I have built and restored I have also done hundreds of straight refinish jobs over nearly four decades. Here you see a Les Paul Custom which went from a sunburst to a goldtop with a black back and neck. For more examples of my finish work see both the GUITAR RESTORATION and the GUITARS I HAVE BUILT sections.

Took my new gj2 guitar here about a year ago based on a recommendation from the shop I bought it from. I Wanted a set up and a few high frets addressed. Got it back with tool marks on the back of the neck and It was missing parts. The case I brought it in was returned filthy. Not impressed and didn't return for corrections out of fear more damage to the guitar. Maybe this guy was good in his day but not now. Sorry I know Dan has lots of fans out there but I left disappointed and out $100.
