Giving an average review. I really want to buy a bunch of new cymbals as Guitar Center doesn't have the different ones set up for a thorough review. From what I heard Drums and Moore would be the place. Unfortunately I've tried calling several times and never get an answer. Also, from reading the other reviews it sounds like stock isn't what it was built up to be here anyway, and the business that is done is somewhat on the shady side. Literally got 2 grand burning a hole in my pocket for new cymbals. Just nothing worth a damn for drums in Madison these days tho it would seem. Yay Corporate America!

Went to look at drums. Went into the building and couldn't find anyone. It was an odd experience. Didn't find the drums either.

This was years ago, but I'm still bitter. I brought in a set of congas on consignment. Never got a call for months. When I finally called to check on them, they were gone but they refused to pay me for them.

I just drove an hour from out west to find their severely reduced "summer hours" taped to their door. The phone number wasn't working. I had an emergency I needed to throw money at, now I have to throw money at Amazon instead.

Very small. Like, a bedroom sized retail section. But the owner was able to provide the small hardware pieces to make my drumkit functional again. I'd suggest calling ahead to make sure he has what you're looking for. Very knowledgeable.

It felt very outdated. Extremely limited selection. I came in hoping to purchase some used cymbals or even some cheap new ones, but didn't have much to offer. I know he offers drum lessons as part of his gig, not just selling drum stuff. Very nice guy to talk to though. Answered all my drum questions and if I were to want some lessons, this would be the first place I would look. Would give 2 stars for the selection, and 5 for service and drum knowledgeability. If you can make it back here several times you may find some good cymbals passing through.

Nice little store on Monona Drive, it's a legacy at this point as nearly every local music shop has closed it's doors with the rise of Guitar Center and it's ilk. Yet Rand Moore is still going strong, wheeling and dealing all kinds of new and used gear and instructing newbies and vets alike on a level that's unparalleled in the Madison area. Let's talk about Rand for a moment.

This is a guy who has been on the Professional Percussion scene longer than many of us have been alive. He has dynamite contacts with all the reps we know and love and has also forged relationships with many boutique companies to gain access to their brilliant offerings as well. Top notch drummer, store owner and instructor. One of the only guys you should be going to when you want to purchase percussion gear. Go there. Like right now.

Rand is a cool guy! Small shop but he knows a lot about drums. I think the location is wrong at the time of writing this review, its actually on the west side of Monona Dr.

I really like shopping at Drums n' Moore. The people there are always very nice, and helpful. Lots of experience and valuable knowledge between Drums n' Moore and the school of music. When I can find a reason to support Drums n' Moore as a locally owned business, I like to do so. So, basically whenever i need anything musical-percussion-wise, heads, you name it. I stop in and see whats new.
