Made up of two small drums attached to each other, bongos are an extremely popular percussion instrument found all over the world. They are typically played with the hands, but can be also be struck with sticks for a different sound. Bongos are traditionally made of wood with rawhide heads, however can also be constructed using a variety of other natural and synthetic materials.
Watch a Video Demonstration of the LP Bongo Cajon Let's face it, the description "boxy sound" used to be a negative when it came to drums. But the popularity of cajons-which are, basically, just wooden boxes-changed all that. Now LP has. Shaped like a bongo, but looks like a cajon. It's the new X8 Bongo Cajon!

Such an amazing little gem. It's rare to find a place that specializes in so many amazing types of hand drums with so many varieties to choose from. Several other amazing little percussion accessories and instruments as well. Also supplied with drum sticks, mallets, guitar picks, strings, and bass strings. Molly is also an amazing spirit and loves nothing more than for people to share space in the shop to feel inspired and try out whatever they want to find their match. Forget ordering online, support local and come to this amazing spot

This company is also in group with Austin Furniture Outlet. Both businesses are not worth the time. The owners hire people that are 20 somethings that are there for a short time and then leave. The owners discriminate against future employees and current employees. Customer concerns and complaints are allowed to follow the cracks with no resolution. Items are shipped with the wrong parts, no parts at all, or the wrong item and then when a customer complains, the complaint goes unanswered.
This company is not worth the time, expense or frustration. If you go to either site, X8 drums or Austin Furniture read the reviews and you will see that this is a "Common Thread" for both of these businesses. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else where they care about you as a customer, not a number.

Ordered two different compact didgeridoos for my children from X8 Drums through Overstock.com for Christmas and got two of the same COMPLETELY different compact didgeridoos. When I contacted Overstock and explained that this would lead to endless arguments over whos was whos, they expedited shipment of a new order and I received a new package, which was half right.
This time I received one of the items I ordered TWICE. Again IDENTICAL items! My children were just adopted by us at the end of November out of foster care, I'm not going to keep taking away their gifts and sending them back because this company can't pull an item correctly. I finally just marked their names on the damn things but I won't EVER purchase from them again.

My son turned 11 and ordered a hand drum called an "udu" with his birthday money. He was super excited! He found a good price on the drum on the X8 website, so I agreed to buy it for him. Firstly, the website experience was unsettling. I clicked "proceed to payment, " expecting to review my order. But instead, it purchased before I was ready. I figured, that's okay, because I did want the drum.
I realized a couple days later that I never received a shipment confirmation. I tried to call the business, since the site says that "real drummers answer the phone." But I just got a recording, even during the day. I was able to finally get ahold of someone (the owner?) on their live chat, so that was good. He was very friendly and knowledgeable.
He told me that the drum was out of stock for 30 days. That's a problem. I don't think the website should accept my order without notifying me of this. My impression from the site was that the drum was in stock. My son selected a different type of udu and Mark took care of the order for me. Another few days waiting for a shipment confirmation, I finally received one.
The drum arrived a couple days after that -- from Memphis! This whole time I had expected it to ship from down the street in San Marcos. He does love the drum. But if I had a dime for each time I've heard, "Mom, where's my udu?" I'd be rich. So in summary, the site's a little wonky, phone support is spotty, and shipping is slow. We're happy with the product but won't be ordering from X8 again.
