Love this store! The selection from different music instruments, books, music equipment, lessons, instructors, and awesome service. The minute you enter the store, you get a warm welcome. A service person helps show you around, and will help you find what your looking for. I bought my daughters first electronic piano here twenty-two years ago, along with my other kids music instruments, music learning books, throughout the years.
My youngest son just started guitar lessons with Jayson, who has kept my son interested in something other than video games. We have them re-string our guitars. Give ideas for my grandchildren getting started playing with music. I will continue to buy our instruments, music equipment, lessons, etc. here always. It's a wonderful place to find everything you need. If they don't have what your looking for in store, they take the time to special order it for you. Five star store for sure! Thumbs up.

Very helpful every time i go. Especially when we were helped by Jim Shannon for questions about a trombone for our son. He gave very useful info and did not pressure us to purchase a trombone at all. That's good business model, to build the trust and we'll most likely go back when it's time to purchase when he's more advanced. Renting from the store has been smooth.
I checked up on how many more payments before we're fully paid and they took the time to calculate things out. Had the trombone tuned/straightened/whatever they do (my kid probably wasn't as careful at first), and it's been playing awesome since. We buy all the accessories we need here. Good variety of music books. And they're willing to find books if they don't have in stock.

An extremely happy customer here. I was eager to get my son's saxophone repaired in one day because he had an important audition coming up. After contacting several music shops, Allegro music shop was the only shop that could fix my son's saxophone and bring back its musical sound in such short notice. I really appreciate Joe and the technician's amazing service and funny jokes!

I've brought my sax in several times for repair, initially a significant amount on an instrument that hadn't been played in 25 years. Workmanship, speed, friendliness all fantastic. Also a big help to my trumpet-playing son. Updated, just went back to try out some new alto sax's. Helpful and friendly as always. Prices comparable to those online.

On my son's birthday this year he asked me to take me to guitar center. I looked at the maps and it said that it was gonna be a 45 minute drive just to get a few miles away from here. So I decided to check out allegro music, and I'm so glad I did. There's an awesome vibe in there and you automatically feel accepted as you are. Jim was exceptionally kind to my son, Tony.
And he even sent a personal thank you card. Do yourself a favor and support this business! You won't be sorry. Special shout out to the guy who fix my son's guitar don't remember what your name is but thank you!

I was hopeful as they were an "authorized Ibanez" repair shop. I had a guitar that needed a setup and the pick up was bad\under Ibanez warranty. They kept it for 4 days and said it was a lemon. Didn't fix the pickup and charged me $40 for nothing to get my guitar back. All they did was complain where I got it since it wasn't them. Aren't they an authorized repair ship? Anyways I took it back to GC and they replaced the pickup and did a set up. Total cost around $60. Wont be back.

I have been going to Allegro Music for decades and honestly have never taken the time to actually rant or rave about them or anyone. But this is a rave review. And well deserved. Their customer service has changed a little over the years, and that is definitely for the better. I have never been treated so well at ANY music store. Most pretend to know it all about your instrument and always try to sell you something you either don't want or need.
But Allegro is different. They actually ARE very knowledgable and do everything they can to help you in any given situation. They listen. Their customer service goes far beyond you walking in the door and someone coming up and asking what can I do for you. There's a salesperson there who not only goes way beyond the average customer service guy, but takes the extra steps to make sure you are genuinely taken care of by all aspects.
Long story short, I purchased a product that they carry and can order, but being completely honest here, it was NOT purchased from them. The product broke in a way that it really was not repairable. However, "Jim Shannon" went well beyond what I would ever expect from a store in general, or any salesperson and contacted the manufacturer about the product and managed to get the product replaced.
Free of charge. This was not a cheap fix, it was an expensive piece of equipment. This was so amazing to get this kind of service from a store where I didn't even purchase the equipment from them! I want to say I will from this day forward always use them as my "go to" music store. I am a professional drummer and have toured, and for years went to the larger store (a chain we all know) and have always been treated as though I was some ignorant guy off the street who knew nothing about my instrument or craft.
I am pro, and have played on records, toured nationally, and the big store even had one of MY drumheads signed on their wall. But do you think they gave me any recognition? Nope. Allegro is now the store to go to for ALL your music needs and has the best customer service on the planet. And btw, it's not just Jim, . they are ALL great customer service folks! GO THERE!

This is my first experience with having a local music store to routinely visit for new gear, accessories, repairs etc. Since I recently picked up guitar as a hobby, I have chimed in this store with an overwhelming amount of questions - to which they have been consistently patient and willing to stick around so that I could learn something new. Really appreciate that every visit so far was insightful. I managed to get John's name who was super chill, though the whole team is welcoming and there for you if needed.

A music teacher in my Electives team at a local Jr. High was in dire need of bell covers and face mask PPE for dozens of students and their instruments. After he was told to order from Amazon but saw there would still be delays, I wanted to help my colleague and look for local music stores in a few neighboring cities -hoping to find at least a few needed items.
I have a huge rave for Allegro. Jim Shannon kindly listened to our months-long story of PPE ordered, then returned to sender and students going without playing their instruments for the semester. He carefully jotted down all of the instrument covers needed and also put aside masks for us to purchase later that evening. Jim called me back a couple of hours later and found a distributor for us in the midwest. Mr. Shannon ordered and tracked the package for us.
Within 10 days from the first phone call, we had all that we needed for the students to play. (It was over 25 pieces of bell cover PPE + 25 instrument masks). I highly recommend this store for service received. You made a Jr. High symphonic band very happy to be back in the swing of things. Bravo Allegro. Encore! P.S. I'll try to attach a photo next week when the students are seated with their instruments.

TLDR; The owner called me a b*aner, said, "all your brown people get the fuck out, " and "I hope you die of COVID." Today has been a whirlwind and in short, I don't recommend coming here, especially if you are a brown person. I've come to Allegros many times in the past with decent experiences. I came in earlier today to sell an Orange amp.
I waited a bit before speaking with someone. Employees were maskless. An older masked gentleman (presumably the owner) came from the back and told me he'd look at my amp. After, he asked me what I was looking for. I didn't have a starting point in mind and was open to any offer. After saying that, the man walked around a bit, returned, and asked me once again.
I said the same thing, that I wasn't sure about pricing but if they had an offer I'd be open to hearing it. He begrudgingly told me, "Well you're not getting an offer from me." It was weirdly hostile, so I said OK. He said, "This is only worth $20 to me." I, relieved to hear an offer, said, "Oh, that sounds like an offer!" The tone went from 0-100.
He told me, "You need to get the fuck out of my store." I was so weirded out. I said, "Ok, but I think cursing at me is really poor business practices." "I don't care, get the fuck out of my store." My things were still behind the counter so I said, "Sure, but I need my stuff back." "Your shit? Here, now get the fuck out. I'll escort you." The store is a shoebox so I'm not sure why he'd need to do that, but I chalk it up to him thinking I'm going to steal or mess something up. "You know what, you're a boomer.
I know you come from a time where you can talk to brown people like that and not get a response, but I'm not doing that. You're an asshole. The way you talk to people is horrible." "You're RACIST." "Why?" "You called me a BOOMER." "Do you treat all brown customers like this?" At no point have any employees interjected, although one starts recording on his phone. "No, just you b*aner, you and all your brown people get the fuck out of here, " The owner said.
The other employee then stopped recording. I was in the store alone, so I'm left to assume he means the entirety of all brown people. As I'm walking out, Owner takes his mask down. I say, "You don't have to do that, and maybe take a step back, what if I had COVID?" "I hope you die from COVID, " he says. The employee from before starts recording me again, I don't know if he thinks I'm going to do something.
The fear mongering is real, and it seems they feel physically threatened by anyone telling them they're jerks. So yeah, just don't come here. The man was triggered by me pointing out that he indeed had an offer? This was a pretty horrifying experience, but I still had to get rid of my amp. I went to the other music shop in town, and was treated like family. I highly recommend visiting that shop. I also appreciate folks sharing this review so people know not to patronize a racist business.

This place is a Fremont institution. I snapped one of my guitar strings and needed a hole drilled for a strap. I was in and out in 10 mins and all was done for a reasonable price. When I got home, the guitar sounded amazing (not only did I snap the string but also just could not get it to sound right via my phone's tuning app, hence tightening so hard I broke it). Support this amazing local business that's been around since my childhood!

Great customer service and a large supply of instruments! My daughter and I came in just to browse and luckily Nick was able to help us. He was patient, knowledgeable, and a great musician! I would give him 5 stars for his customer service skills and passion for helping other musicians: Will be returning back to Allegro so our family can take ukelele and drum lessons.

I needed a setup for my Fender Stratocaster. John, the guitar technician, was great. He explained everything that needed to be done, and was able to do the work while I waited in the store. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, and they have the gear I need at good prices. I'll definitely be back.

Great staff and great service. I bought a guitar here- they had the exact one that I wanted in stock, and they had it on sale. I called in and put it on hold and then picked it up the same day. The staff was very helpful and they were all wearing masks and social distancing. If you can, support your local mom and pop shops like Allegro during the pandemic- if you're going to buy an instrument, consider getting it here instead of through Amazon. I'll be back when I need more guitar supplies!

Kiddo taking band class at school and this was one of two local music stores recommended by the school district. I am VERY pleased to support local business, plus the school warn parents how the hell you get instruments serviced if you order through Amazon?! (Such stores do not service Amazon acquired devices). Anyways, quality goods. The kids are provided with rent-to-own contracts.
With the kiddo doing trumpet (yes, my eardrums but I got him practicin' before I get home), this is a good approach. My instrument is a new trumpet to rent, so that's cool. Service (assuming reasonable normal use) is included. I'm more worried about clumsy kids losing or dropping the instrument (but alas, no such insurance. I guess statistically that is more likely to happen! that it is not worth the insurer or store to offer coverage!). Great place overall.

I took my tenor ukulele here to buy strings and get them changed. James was amazing, not only did he do a stellar job replacing my strings, he also showed me how to actually do it so I could go home and change the strings on my other ukulele all by myself (which I did with no problems at all). He was also able to get me one piece of sheet music, at a much lower cost, so I wouldn't have to buy a whole book just for the one song I wanted to learn.

Was a good experience buying an acoustic guitar here. Jim was helpful with the selection and allowed me to play it with an amp to get a feel for its sound. Price is decent. This baby fender is $299.99; it's beautiful and sounded great. It's the same price as most online stores, but I do like to support a local business instead. Plus, you get to hold the guitar and confirm its quality, not having to worry about the guitar breaking in half for an online shipment.
