This is the only music school in NJ where YOU write your own songs! Our school is built on the principle that if we teach the correct things, you can spend most of your music training creating your own, original music. Musical Structure-using music theory, scales and chord theory, they learn to create pretty and creative melodies.

Services
The Original Music School is designed for beginners as well as advanced students. Regardless of your child's musical experience, he or she will benefit from our flexible program and a caring and knowledgeable teaching staff. Your child will be grouped with other young musicians based on age, ability, experience, interest, and style.
If you want to play an instrument or learn to sing, our program will get you started and on your way, for any genre. From pop-rock to classical to jazz, and everything in between! As a beginner you will be taught the chords, technique, and theory that will give you understanding and access to the music you want to play.

Learning from Connor (and the rest of the staff!) at OMS was not only full of great instruction but also simply a lot of fun. OMS isn't just made of great instructors; it's also a community of people who love music and help to inspire that same love in everyone who joins them, bringing them into new and exciting experiences. Couldn't recommend them more!

The owners are incredible musicians and instructors, and the school itself is a great place for students to learn. My teen daughter takes lessons here, but she's played gigs with all ages and skill levels of band mates from this school and every experience was fantastic. Sean, Connor and Dylan are talented, kind, and fun. I recommend this place to people constantly.

I love this place! I am a 44 year old mom & have finally committed to taking guitar lessons. I am about 3 months in & have learned a lot & improved tremendously. I now actually sound okay when I am jammin with my hubby (great pianist). I know that if I keep practicing & follow the plan that they have set forth for me, I will get better & better & reach my goals.
I am challenging myself & have started trying new things to create my own tunes. Original Music School teaches technique & discipline. The vibe of the school feels like home. My daughter has started taking voice here & loves it! The instructors & owner are great people & excellent musicians.

Being a student at The Originial Music School (OMS) for over 4 years has been a amazing experience. I've not only grown so much as a musician, but I've made many great friends. Before I joined OMS I was only playing simple melodies and a few easy chords on my guitar. 4 years later as being a student at OMS I can play multiple instruments and do things I thought I'd never be able to do. OMS has been a great experience for me as it will be for many others.

OMS has created a unique and rich culture of music education for persons of all ages. Their emphasis on "create don't imitate" separates them from other music schools. I was very impressed with the songwriting and performing of their students. For me, learning to play guitar was and is a "bucket list" item of mine - and, I intend to continue with lessons this fall. Thanks for a great experience so far. To be continued.
