I've used Robert for several pianos. He has always been efficient and careful of both the pianos and the household. He casually shares interesting piano facts while lifting these heavy machines, a feat in itself. A consummate professional, I'll keep this piano mover on speed dial for the next time I'm moving.

When our piano mover fell through at the last minute, we reached out to Robert who kindly squeezed us in (and on a Saturday no less!) He was professional, experienced and maneuvered our piano easily with care and expertise. It was transported securely and delivered without issue. Pricing with also very fair. Would use him again in the future. Highly recommend Robert and River City Piano!

Critical: Professionalism Robert was very dishonest with me. Charged $50 more than we agreed on and the total charge was $400 for moving a Cline 6'1 piano. It was about 10 miles distance. He didn't even bother to finish his job connecting the pedals back to the piano after moving. He was not professional. I would not recommend him to others. Service: Local moving

I needed a 60 year old Baby Grand moved from Davis, CA to Reno, NV. I found Robert's company on Yelp and he had very good reviews. Our piano was picked up in Davis, expertly loaded and transported to Reno. It arrived in the same condition it left. Robert and his helper (can't remember her name, sorry) were very friendly and professional.

Our house entrance was not the easiest entrance, but they got the piano in and assembled with no issues at all. The price was very reasonable for a long distance move. I highly recommend River City Pianos if you ever need a piano moved.

Today, River City Piano moved a piano from Rocklin to my church in Tahoe Park. My goal was to purchase the piano and have it delivered on the same day. Robert came through. I'm extremely grateful for the excellent services he provided, his honesty, and at a reasonable price to boot! I highly recommend Robert and River City Piano for your piano needs. If you're looking for a piano, you need to make an appointment, as he's not always there.

I always recommend Robert's piano rental to my students who don't have a piano (I teach piano at Kline Music). I've also rented pianos from River City Piano multiple times for myself. The piano selection is always great, the pianos are in great condition that are for rent, the owner moves the piano to your house himself, and the prices are more than fair. I highly, highly recommend River City Piano. They are excellent and honest as well!

I bought a player piano here and love it. The owner really knows what he is talking about and was super helpful as I tried to figure out what I wanted and picked one out. I ended up getting exactly what I was looking for. And he even delivered it. I have been back since to pick out more piano rolls and have even had him back out to my house to move the piano when I was getting new carpet.

Also while there were less expensive options on Craig'slist I realized that they would likely have ended up being more expensive as I would have had to tune, likely restore and move the other pianos.

Very satisfied with Robert and co. He moved a 5'1 piano with a piano player for me. I called him on a Sunday and he moved it on Monday. He was on time and picked up the piano at the sellers and delivered it to my house. The price was reasonable. He and his assistant were very careful in moving the piano. No damage whatsoever. Incidentally, Robert does not play or tune the piano. He just moves it.

They have great service. And the piano rental was affordable! I love this place!

Today, the owner, Robert moved our upright piano out of my grandmas house (30 miles north of Sac) to our home in Santa Cruz. It was neither the hardest or the easiest job. We were grateful for his expertise and attention to detail. His quote was fair and he didn't charge a penny more in spite of traffic. He and his associate were a great team and they were simply terrific!

Tight corners, hardwood floors, tricky entryways; no problem! No accidents, scuffs, etc. My mom recently hired a local mover in the same area and they virtually destroyed her piano. We are SO GLAD we went with a piano company for moving this special family piano! Thank you River City Piano Co!

Used pianos from a guy that knows what he's talking about. Prices are about double whatever Facebook or Craigslist is selling them for but he moves then himself and you won't get scammed

I have to say, he has a huge piano inventory. I know the industry, am a professional musician, and he is a man with integrity. As he gets pianos restored, he sells them. And, he gets some in that only need a little work, and he sells them in good shape. He's very honest and will match people to an appropriate instrument. He has a wear house filled with pianos waiting to be lovingly restored.

Use what clearly has been his life long obsession to get tons of gems in the raw. He does regulations and makes sure his pianos play cleanly. Others need a lot of work. Generally, he only sells ones ready to out the door. Frankly, from what I see, this is a good time to buy pianos. I suspect he'll take reasonable offers on a lot of instruments. And, his rental pianos are fine instruments for students.

I called Rivercity Piano Moving yesterday (9/8/2017) around 9:30 am to get a quote for moving a piano. Robert answered the phone and I described to him the pick up and drop of locations. He clearly understood the city the piano is getting picked up and the city is getting dropped off. He quoted me $275. After calling a number of other movers I selected River City Piano.

I called back early afternoon to make an appointment. At that point Robert said that he made a mistake on his quote and did not include mileage from Sacramento to the pick up location (35 miles east of Sacramento) and therefore the estimate now is $415! He blamed his "mistake" that it was too early when I called him at 9:30 am! He refused to honor his original estimate at which point I said I will choose someone else. Ironically, when I called the next company they tried to pull the same excuse increasing their original estimate of $325 to over $500!

I was prepared the second time and after a long discussion the other company honored their original estimate. Buyer be aware it appears that bait and switch is standard practice for some of these companies!

Robert is a of great help! Great advise and service. He is fair, trustworthy and well experienced. River City Piano makes piano moving look easy. I've used this service twice in the last year and couldn't be happier.

Like others have mentioned, we were skeptic when we saw Mr. Miller roll up in just his truck and a trailer and no assistants. But he was extremely professional, punctual, and efficient. Moved the piano quickly and safely and gave us references for a tuner. I would completely recommend this company!
