Coffey Music is the best music store that ever existed. Incredible selection of any instruments you could be interested in. The personal care received in the store was second to none. Sadly, I write this in the final weeks of it being open. Bob has finally decided to take his well deserved retirement. But look for him in the music scene now that he will have some free time!

I have been going to Coffey Music since I first started playing guitar over 23 years ago. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and they are very knowledgeable about the instruments and accessories they carry. Their customer service is excellent and they are always happy to help you find what you need. If you're in the market for a new instrument, or you need some accessories, I recommend Coffey Music.

Coffey is where I go first for all my musical needs. Don't be concerned if you don't see what you want in the showroom: Just ask! I did that when recently shopping for a new keyboard. I had a great buying experience. They found what I was looking for, got it into the store so I could try it out, and sold it at a good price. The staff is always there to help.

I've been coming to coffee music off and on for over 20 years. When I'm in the area I stop by even if I don't need anything because there that awesome of a music store. Unlike the big box music stores with young kids filling the employment position coffee music has REAL music people employed to help you. Always a friendly smile followed up with very intelligent and knowledgeable people.
And the best thing is if your looking for a part, product or just information you'll find it here. Mr Coffee is the stuff, when you see him walk down the wall of guitars then ukuleles and just reach out, pluck and tune then wile still hanging on the hook you know your in the mist of real talent. You will Never find a instrument out of tune that's on display. It fills my heart with joy to see these type of caring stores still exist.

Superlux TM58 Series Vocal Mic. Bob Coffey does it again! This man knows his stuff. I needed to replace a Shure SM58 mic - he suggested I try this mic that I THOUGHT was an SM58. Said this mic was VERY similar (at 1/3 the price) Darn if he wasn't right! Mic sounds nearly identical to the three SM58's in my music room. Thanks AGAIN to Bob Coffey for steering me in the best direction while keeping my penny pinching budget in mind.

I have bought my guitar, amp, strings, effects, and other accessories here but my last experience definitely stands out. I needed to get a new nut cut for my guitar which was going to take a week. I only have one guitar and I play every night so I was bummed to be without my guitar for so long. Bob Coffey, the owner, noticed this and offered me a loaner guitar at no charge to take home so I wouldn't be without something to play.
This is something that isn't required but really shows that they go the extra mile with their customer service to make sure I was happy. I picked up my guitar today and it plays and stays in tune better than ever now.

Store is okay and cant speak for day time staff. But if you are a serious musician looking to join a jam session forget it. They will tell you when they have them and you are invited to be a spectator, but don't even think about joining in. This is a rude, tight knit, closed group of stuck up musicians.

A fantastic local store with employees that really care. This store has been helping me since 1994 and they have never disappointed. I've taken lessons, bought guitars, amps, drums, and everything in between. They carry some fantastic brand names and compete well with prices. They also get in used stuff, which I've always been a big fan of. This store is worth going to even if you're not in the area. Since moving to DC I still make a trip back to Westminster just to visit Coffey Music.

Spent almost 3 hours here today for my elementary schooler's "try out the band instruments" day. The staff here did a terrific job with the huge crowd of eager kids all clamoring to sample flutes, trumpets, clarinets, cellos, drums, and other assorted instruments. My compliments to these folks for their fortitude! A+

A helpful local option for acquiring all your favorite music gear. It's not a big place like a Guitar Center - so they don't have a huge inventory. But Bob Coffey makes up for that by a) carrying some nice stuff that you are probably interested in, and b) offering to order in stuff you want that's not in stock. So I spent this past weekend looking at guitars, specifically I've settled on a Godin A6 Ultra hybrid acoustic/electric.
I wanted to compare it to a Line 6 Variax acoustic. Coffey's is listed as a dealer on each of their websites, and didn't have either model in stock. But then again. none of the 4 guitar shops in Catonsville (including warehouse style Bill's Music) did either. Meanwhile, Coffey's was far nicer and far more interested in helping me figure things out than Bill's - who just really didn't have time to bother with me.
So Coffey will order it in, I'll try it, if I don't like it, Bob just puts it in his inventory. And I buy something different from him. Obviously he's not going to order in 20 models for me. but it does let me see what I'm buying before I commit (unlike a pure internet transaction). Coffey's broadest inventory seems to be in guitars and related accessories.
They do have some pro sound, but not a lot. I have ordered pro sound gear from them successfully. Unless you can find some ebay closeout. the prices are pretty good. For the Godin guitar above, Coffey's price was far better than Musicians Friend.
