I have bought at least 10 guitars from this place. Every lefty should visit southpaw. This is probably my favorite place the in world. i look forward to buying more left handed guitars.

Got to be honest, the website has virtually no detail about the guitars. For instance, Fender Custom Shop - no floor shop traveller info, detailed condition report, photo's in natural light etc. So I then send detailed emails, twice, asking what I want to know, but no replies. It's almost like they don't care about people who can't visit the shop because they know they'll sell the guitars anyways. So, I've now dropped them from my possible supplier list now. It's always the same.

Great store, well stocked (range of prices and models), and super helpful staff. I've been in some stores before where the staff are hostile and grumpy about you trying out their instruments and hover over you the whole time, but the folks at Southpaw were welcoming & really friendly. Really pleased with the guitar I came away with. They also set it up on purchase. 10/10 would recommend. Staff speak English & Spanish.

I would like to start this review by saying hats off to the person that has an exclusive left handed guitar store! Jim was awesome throughout the whole experience. Calling and checking on me, and going above and beyond making sure everything was right! I will definitely buy from this place again, and I look forward to the day I can visit it in person. If you're a lefty, give Southpaws a shout! You won't regret it!

My son and I always enjoy a visit to Southpaw Guitars. They have a large selection of both acoustic and electric. Staff is always super helpful and nice. Guitar prices are fair. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves to browse lefty guitars or anyone looking for something vintage. Great place!

Purchased a Christmas gift for my husband at Southpaw Guitars. They were amazing at helping me get the perfect guitar and could not have been nicer! This is the place to do business! Kept in contact with me till my husband had his new baby in his hands. I cannot thank them enough! Will certainly do business again and again with Southpaw Guitars! The best guitar shop for lefties ever!

Stood outside for a couple of minutes and rang the bell as stated next to their big bolt door. I tried pulling on the door and it felt like it was shut. I go look in the window by the register and there is a gentleman that looked at me and then walked away. So much for supporting local businesses during the pandemic.

Being a left handed guitarist in a right handed world is tough, most stores only stock beginner/student level instruments with limited styles, brands, and options. The selection at Southpaw is vast and varies for all levels of skill and budget. They make you feel special and urge you to try out whatever you want. I've driven from Dallas and purchased four guitars from Southpaw over the years.

It's always a special event for me, and I've always felt welcomed. Great Customer Service, Hospitality, and a service to the community of lefties. Cheers to my Friends at Southpaw! Thanks for being there for us!

These guys are great! I came from LA to get a left handed guitar. The selection is unparalleled! Very knowledgeable and patient staff. Highly recommend!

Super cool shop. Stumbled into this place driving around Houston. The shop specializes in lefty guitars but I decided to check it out and got a great deal on a right handed 6 string bass. Omar at the shop was really nice and let me play it as long as I liked. Definitely check this place out if you are in Houston. Great amps and pedals too.

Jim and the crew at Southpaw are the absolute best! I've purchased numerous guitars from Southpaw over the years and every experience has been a total pleasure. They provide a free setup with every purchase, which provides a great value many other shops don't offer. Being left handed is usually a curse, not so at our beloved Southpaw Guitars! Seek them out on Instagram, Jim is great about posting updates when new stock comes in, it's a great follow! The only downside is that they are located in Houston, TX and I live in Minnesota!

I'm not a southpaw, but I needed some gear recently and called these guys. They were super responsive, and had just what I needed. The store itself is loaded with guitars and gear of all sorts, neat, clean, and friendly. Don't be put off by the iffy looking strip center where it is located--these guys are customer oriented, friendly and helpful. Give them a try.

As a left handed guitarist I never have much selection in usual stores as at most there are very little left handed guitars to choose from. So when I went to this store I was amazed at how much selection I had for left handed guitars and basses of all types of brands. If you're left handed looking for a new guitar and want options, you need to come to Southpaw guitars.

Excellent selections of guitars, customer service and shipping. Jim was very prompt to all my questions. Guitar arrived quickly, safely, properly setup and ready to play.

Lefty Mecca! If you are left handed and are in the area you have to visit. Kind of a sketchy area. You have to get buzzed in. But once inside all of your left handed dreams come true! It was almost sensory overload. I wondered if that's how rightys feel when they go to Guitar Center. The opportunity to try virtually any guitar that's made in a lefty. Can't miss.

Having never played the guitar, I went here to get help picking my first one. I walk in and eventually one of the 5 employees asked "you left handed?" And I said "yes". I then explained I've never played and have always wanted to learn and would like help on picking a good guitar. The guy then handed me a tuner and said here you go and walked away. I wondered aimlessly for a few minutes and then left. Never coming back here.

Both my son and wife play guitars and everytime I have visited this incredible Houston Landmark, I am amazed at how friendly and knowledgeable both Jimmy and Omar are. These guys have everything you need, from electric, new, used and vintage.and acoustic. Plus they do excellent repairs. What a pleasure to find this family owned and run store.!

Although they have good selection for lefties, the service is terrible. I made an ordering mistake and the owner wouldn't refund my money, despite the guitar not having been shipped yet. Said he was "already inventory-heavy" as a reason to force me to continue the sale. Very dishonest way of doing business, and certainly not the way to attract repeat customers.

I cannot understand why the owner would compel a customer to go through with an order they didn't want before it had shipped (other than for short-term financial gain, of course). But I was trapped on the technicality of their refund policy, so it was my fault. Buyer beware of this fact!

Where do you go for Left Handed Guitars and Basses? Southpaw Ya'll. If you are Left Handed and play Guitar or bass, stop by to easily kill an hour. Staff is full of info. The beautiful inventory they have will make you question why you spent so much money on the only left handed Guitar you found at one of the big name stores.

Simply the best guitar shop that I've ever frequented. I'm not even left handed! Prices are great and Jimmy is a very fair guy to work with. This place is a certified dealer in almost any brand, Taylor, Gibson, Fender, EVH and several others. Prices are as good as internet shops like Musicians Friend. I love this place!
