Our personalized one-on-one private lessons, held at our shop, are priced at $35 for a 30-minute session or $120 for four consecutive weeks. For those seeking professional guidance, we provide remote sessions led by touring musician Jerry Cortez at $60 per hour.

El Cajon Guitars and Music (“EC Guitars & Music”) is locally owned and operated by Maria Hart and Frank Cogliano. We are musicians with backgrounds in community and public service. In 2022, on a shoestring budget using funds from the sale of our home, we decided to create a new brick-and-mortar local “Mom & Pop” guitar/ music shop because we enjoy helping others make music. We are a two-person operation working daily to grow our small business in order to be a resource to musicians of all levels.

This place rocks, pun absolutely intended. The owners are a great duo knowledgeable about all things guitars and beyond. My brief, spontaneous stop at their shop became a joyful hour-long excursion in my day. If you have the time, are a music fan, and are in the area, I highly recommend a stop here.

I walked into the store to find a peg for my niece's guitar that I borrowed. Owner went the extra mile to try to find one that would fit. Although nothing was readily suitable he went out of his way to help me tune it so I could practice for a gig next day. While at the store I saw this beautiful guitar 🎸 leather case, so unique and at a great price so I just bought it on the spot. I'm very impressed with tbe customer service and I encourage all my musician friends to come to El Cajon Guitars where they are very friendly to the musicians. They also have a nice unique selection of cajones and other percussion instruments.

To start Frank and Maria's level of customer service is one of the things that will make many people come back. I haven't seen a store front on Main Street in El Cajon with this much passion in many years. Frank hung out with us for well over an hour and talked with us about anything and everything music related. They are revitalizing downtown El Cajon one very nice guitar at a time. So much more I could say about them and there shop but you will just have to go in and talk with them yourselves. Best of luck to you guys!

All I can say is Wow!! Maria and Frank are truly amazing. Service and quality of products was superb. My friend and I purchased ukulele. Maria explained extremely detailed features of various ukulele and enhancements along with set ups. Amazing knowledge of products they share with customers. I give it a two thumbs up for great service and friendly owners. One of these, Eddy Finn Bamboo Beach Concert is what I bought. The recipient of the ukulele can't wait to play it.
