Just picked up my partscaster build from Dave Vez. I brought a bunch of pieces to Dave and he threw in a few with an amazing heavenly white paint job all for a reasonable price. The best part, Dave let me make payments as he took his time working on it. Thanks Dave and son, and Mindy for the awesome work and great customer service. I'll be back for more.

I needed a guitar setup for a fender squire strat that I've had for over 30 years. I turned it into a partscaster because the old neck was just so worn out and my kid didn't take care of the guitar, so I took it back into my possession. Dave was knowledgeable and a great technician and ran the whole gamut of fret work, graphite nut installation, polish, filing, and neck alignment.
The only minor complaint I would have is that this business is small and Dave is a very busy guy. Wait times for work to be done are a tad long but the wait is worth it. Hours of operation are a minor inconvenience but totally understandable as this is only a 2 person operation. I would recommend this place for guitar tech needs.

I've gotten 3 setups and a repair here as well as lessons. His work is excellent and he is a trustworthy technician. The lessons have helped me grow as a player. This is my go to for work on my instruments. Parking is available for free in the structure in back. They offer a selection of strings and picks if you just need some gear quick.

I challenged myself to learn guitar in January 2018. Fortunately, Yelp helped me find Vez Guitar Academy. Dave is a very knowledgeable instructor who encourages his students to get outside their comfort zone. I tend to be a little on the uptight side, but Dave got me to relax and just go with the flow. So whenever I obsessed that my chords didn't sound clean, he kept telling me to keep practicing and it would get cleaner.
Guess what, he was RIGHT. So while I still may be learning, I can hear the progress. Patience is key, and practice is a must. As a full time working guy, I can say you'll need to be willing to practice whenever you can. Don't have a guitar, not a problem. They have some nice guitars for sale. I started off with a cheap guitar i got from eBay.
It didn't last so I bought one from Vez Guitar Academy. Forget resolutions for 2019, challenge yourself to learn to play guitar. Oh, and Mindy is awesome. She'll help you schedule your lesson. Vez Guitar Academy is my happy place on Thursday nights! Call them! Book your lesson now!

The guitar is an instrument that has always fascinated my interest. I took it up in college (around 2001) for about a month before giving it up to pursue other interests but it's always been in the back of my mind. Fast forward to 2016, with the untimely passing of one of my humanitarian heroes (Prince) I decided that now was as good a time as ever to pick up the instrument in a more sincere fashion.
Enter Groupon. I bought an axe at my local big box store and I found Vez Guitar Academy on Groupon where I purchased an eight lesson package. The rest is history. My Groupon expired in August 2016 but I've been taking lessons with Dave since. Dave has a good thing going. He's got the knowledge and the personality to impart his lessons to the everyday layman. Mindy is very pleasant and she does a great job in handling scheduling-related matters. Additionally, Dave does righteous guitar work.
He setup three of my guitars (i.e., 72' Thinline Telecaster, Epi Les Paul Custom, and an Ibanez AG95 jazz box) and the action/tonality consistency really improved on the instruments. His prices were very reasonable and the turnaround time was just as good. I gave him two guitars on a Sunday (after my lesson) and they were both ready within a week.
In closing if you're looking for an instructor with something to offer and/or you're looking for a someone to setup your rig, then (David) Vez Guitar Academy is a place you should consider.

Vez guitar this place is great seriously these are the coolest people dave the instructor and mindy the assistant. They are very warm friendly and inviting they are very helpful and accommodating. I have been going here 2 months now and have learned a lot. ive been playing for 25 years self taught and have i missed a lot, dave has helped me by filling in these blank spots and things ive missed and have created big challenges to learn things i never learned and build upon what i know.
This place is great and honestly i dont know how you could write a bad review for these people unless you were a total loser, incompetent or just a jerk trying to get over on someone. Either way. if you want to learn guitar and have an attitude for learning then i think you will like this place and the staff alot. My main regret is that i didnt find this place sooner and join up

I have been coming to vez guitar for some months. Before I had no confidence of my own guitar playing abilities.after I came to vez. Dave not only helped me with guitar playing abilities but also helped to build up my confidence and I still have a long way to go. I would recommend others to come here.

Most of David Chavez's students will tell you, this guy is hilarious, patient, and extremely talented; if you pull me aside and ask how do I like being a student at Vez Guitar Academy, well I would say I am very happy my friend stumbled across Dave's ad on the paper one summer day, waved it over my face and called the number herself because I refused to call myself.
I hadn't intend on getting lessons, let alone keep paying for over a year of private lessons, but Vez Guitar Academy is currently a permanent stay on my schedule and I have enjoyed every moment of learning experience under Dave's mentoring and teaching. The moment I actually and finally spoke to Dave on the phone I thought "yeah go book an appointment" and we started from there.
It was a rought start for me. I had very miniscule exposure to music theory but love all sorts of genre it has to offer. I listen to most, from the sad melodies of country to the imaginative improvisations of jazz. I also have a crazy schedule and that often leaves little to no time for practice. Dave will push to get some practice in, because that is the only way to get the basics under your belt, but he understands that everyone has different lifestyles and schedules.
As for his style of teaching, he will always give you more than you think you can handle, but in the end, like I had discovered, it all made sense after a few more sessions. Never forget to ask questions and ask how to improve. Just like any other things in life, your results will depend on how much time and effort you put in yourself. During my own sessions, I'd struggle and get frustrated, but Dave's ok with that.
Get your frustrations out, ask questions, ask for suggestions and Dave will patiently point out what you can do better and suddenly after a few more tries, it clicks, if doesn't then he tells you to keep trying. So if you are looking to find a place that will guide you to become an amazing guitar player, you have found the right place and teacher for an amazing price too.
