We offer private IN-HOME and ONLINE trial lessons. It is your opportunity to meet one of our amazing music teachers, and see if we are the right fit for your child. Lena Gold founded the California Music Academy 20 years ago, following many years of being a successful musician who performed in many music venues around the world.
Since 2003 we devote much of our time to matching young students with the right teacher. We know all of our teachers very well since we interact with them extensively on a daily basis. We know their personality, strengths, weaknesses, and their teaching style. We regularly speak with all students and parents, so we have a good understanding of the type of students that best fit each teacher. The overwhelming majority of music lessons websites that you find online are simply generic referral services.

As parents, we are incredibly proud and excited by the progress both of our children have made through the unparalleled quality of music education they have, and continue to receive here. Lena has been coaching our daughter in piano and voice for a few years now, and the technical advancement our daughter has shown even in the first few months was incredible.
The same holds true for our son, who under Joe's teachings for Guitar, has blown us away with his ability to learn guitar at such a young age (he can now sheet read all notes on his guitar). The level of attention to technical discipline, and building of confidence in the students are key components of the Music Academy's teaching, and the results are worth every penny we spend toward their music education. I would highly recommend this business!

We had the worst experience with the teacher there. Her name is "Mari". She is not professional at all and extremely rude to kids and parents. She doesn't show any respect to parents. The office staff never gets back to you in time. Very disappointed from the teacher and office staff. Only go here if you want to waste your money. Don't go to "Mari".

We have had our son take guitar lessons here for the last 5 years and it has been the best experience. Lena does a great job making sure everyone is comfortable with their lessons. It is a very positive environment with great energy. My son has learned that discipline pays off and he looks forward to his Saturdays with Chris. I would recommend this academy to everyone!

My daughter has had a great experience at CMA with Mari as her teacher! Mari takes the time to get to know the kids well and build a true relationship with them. As a result, my daughter looks forward to lessons and is really progressing in both piano and voice. I would give CMA 5 stars except that it was very challenging to get anyone to return my multiple phone calls to get started with lessons in the first place. I had to call several times and leave multiple messages over a number of weeks. Now that we are up running the lessons with Mari are great.
