My daughter and her Girl Scout troop visited on April 17 and the girls had a great experience. The owner and all of the employees were so accommodating, friendly, and patient with the girls. The girls learned a lot and had so much fun! The facility was bright, clean and inviting. I would definitely recommend this business to other Girl Scouts and musicians as well.

This is a family owned location business with the primary goal of ensuring young people have access to a musical education and experience. Nick helped my son out when he was in a pinch and needed a rental trombone for marching band. The quality of the horn was so good we purchased it outright a few days later. If you have a child in band in The KC metro, this is the spot to go. Intelligent and well informed staff, good quality products, reasonable pricing. Thank you Shining Light!

Ok, full disclosure. I co-own the store, but I play nothing but the radio. That said, I have been in dozens of music shops and stores over the past 40 plus years, and our store is the largest, best organized store I've been in. We have the largest open stock sheet music & books anywhere, a full selection of band and orchestra instruments guitars, ukuleles, banjos and pianos, plus brand new, designed for the purpose teaching studios. Come by and be amazed.

What a great local music shop. We needed an old violin worked on. When we dropped it off they said it would likely need new strings. Yet, instead, after the repair person looked at it they said the strings were fine and even found us some cheaper accessories. I was very impressed with the honest and friendly staff, great service and quality products. Highly recommend.

Once this store reopens they will again provide awesome service. I spoke with three ladies the day I went in and they welcomed me and did not talk down to me. There is many years of music experience and a true love for what they do. I'm glad they are able to bounce back and am excited for their reopening of the new location.

The guitar instructor ia awesome. Thank God the lady at the cash register was not as rude this week as she was last week. She definitely does not make you feel welcome and ready to purchase anything. The store without her was excellent. I got my daughter a new guitar for a great price. I love this place minus the rude girl

It's great to have a local, independent music store in our community. Multiple music studios for many different instrument lessons. Now with the new location, there is tons of parking. My kids take lessons here and am always seeing new brands of instruments. It's not easy to compete against internet retail but Shining Light succeeds and provides locals with a musical community.

My kindergartener attended piano camp here a little over a year ago and we had such a wonderful experience that she began lessons immediately after her week at camp. Great lessons! Great staff! And wonderful small town - feel to the store. My two small children wait in the store for big sister's lesson and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. We highly recommend it!

I came to this store just looking for information on a beginners keyboard as my 7 year old is starting piano lessons. I was given fantastic customer service by the gentleman who assisted me and unfortunately his name eludes me. He took me directly to what I was looking for and did not try to up sell me. After I explained once my daughter showed more interest in piano we would be looking for a better piece equipment he took me over to the more elaborate keyboard and informed me of the differences. I left purchasing a beginners keyboard and will be returning for any future business due to their customer service and non aggressive sales pitch.

Our family has been so happy with Shining Light. My daughter has taking lessons for 5 years. The staff is always kind and helpful. She started with piano, then added drums and now guitar. All instructors have been great and keep my daughter intrest in mind when teaching lessons. I would recommend young and old to check out Shining Light. They have all your music needs.

Stopped in to get my daughter some reeds for her clarinet. We had never been in this store before. The gentleman who helped us was wonderful! He spoke to my daughter directly about her music experience. Showed her different things and was never pushy. I will be recommending this store to anyone I know.

We have had a wonderful experience with Shining Light. Two of my children take music lessons there and have done music camps. There are always fun ways for them to be challenged to the next level whether it is a Fall festival, Christmas performances at Union Station, or recitals. We love Barry for the Trumpet- he is excellent, and Mrs Haines for piano.
The staff is so helpful as well. I also love the heart of the place. They told the students if they made an ornament for their tree they would donate to a local children’s charity. Highly recommend!
