In Bozeman since the 70's, and residing on East Main since 2000, this legendary shop is a full line independent dealer selling quality musical products for everyone from beginner to expert and from hobbyist to collector. Upon stepping foot into Music Villa you'll find a remarkable selection of truly amazing guitars as the shop specializes in one-of-a-kind, limited run, and custom acoustics from Martin, Taylor, Gibson, Collings, and PRS, as well as some amazing electrics from Fender, PRS, Gretsch, and more!

Music Villa was originally called "Joos' Music Villa" and the first location was in the old IGA parking lot (now Pricerite & Universal). Armina Joos and her husband were the owners. In the late 70's they moved down the street to 615 N. 7th (where Re-Compute is now). Armina's daughter Cheryl married and her and Ron Greenig purchased the store.
Music Villa has 2 in-house repair benches for acoustic & electric instrument repair, as well as an off-site luthier/repairman. Music Villa also offers full electronic repair (pricing on individual basis). Includes cleaning, fret buffing, fret board oiling, truss rod adjustment, saddle adjustment, restringing, tuning, and intonation.
Only elite Custom Shop dealers, those offering consumers the highest level of service and attention to detail, are invited to join the Martin Custom Shop Experience. This program aims to offer customers the absolute best guitar buying experience that only the best retailers can provide. These select dealers must possess an extensive knowledge of the various styles, shapes, and the history of Martin guitars. They must go above and beyond for their customers, because anyone purchasing a Martin Custom Shop guitar, deserves the ultimate experience.
Though our online store specializes in fretted instruments, our physical store in Bozeman, MT carries TONS of additional gear including accessories, amps & effects, pro sound gear, keyboards & controllers, recording gear & interfaces, drums & percussion, and most everything else you could imagine in a music store.

Amazing store, beautiful instruments. Guitars (of course), banjos, ukes, violins, almost anything with strings and more, keyboards, percussion. All the top makers - Gibson, Taylor, Martin, Yamaha, Eastwood, Fender, on and on. Entry level models to professional and the sweetest display of Teles. The owners and staff are down-to-earth folks who really want to help you find the instrument you want and need. Though I didn't find the guitar I wanted during my one visit there, they were able to order it and have it shipped to my home north of Seattle. I loved the case candy and adore my new Eastman dreadnought guitar!

I haven't seen a ton of guitar stores but I have seen a couple handfuls and Music Villa is on an entirely different level than every one I have been to. The customer service is some of the best I've experienced at any retail business. The prices are great and the selection of electric and acoustic guitars is overwhelming but in a good way! Then there's the new "villa vault" room.
It's full of some of the nicest new, and vintage guitars and amps money can buy. Music Villa is known throughout the country, probably even the world, as one of the best guitar stores you can find. If you've never been there then you should go if you get the chance. Once you have, you will understand why it's so highly praised!

I stoped in several times looking for a new acoustic guitar. Three different people helped me out and every time they were all super friendly, down to earth, and knowledgeable. I felt like they were trying to help me find a guitar that would work for me, not upsell me (which is a huge difference!). I would stop back in a heartbeat!

I come into music villa maybe 3 times a year when I'm in MT visiting family, never make large purchases but the staff is always extra friendly and helpful. Recently came in and they had a few new kids working who just seemed stoked to be there. Guy with curly hair and glasses helped me find the perfect hardcase to get my guitar home safe. Customer service is a lost art but very happy to see Music Villa doing it right.

By far the best store in Montana. Not only do they have exactly what you want, their staff is just superb. With phone calls, they respond quickly and efficiently. When you go into their store, they always help you. It feels like they genuinely care about you. Even if you aren't looking to buy anything, I would still recommend coming here. It's because of their helpfulness and positivity that I ended up getting my first guitar and bass. Absolutely outstanding

Best service, best quality in everything from products to how they display it! They truly go the extra mile to show they care! Inventory is phenomenal with some real limited gems hanging around. Staff is amazing, online staff excellent, YouTube channel has always been on point! Payment options, same competitive prices but way better service then the big box stores! Lovely town to visit also! Will buy again! Glad I did!

In short: Fantastic store, cool people, and beautiful instruments. Longer version: These guys are top notch and are each a treasure trove of knowledge that you won't find in a typical music store. But more than anything, it's their mellow and welcoming vibe that will make a drop-in an unforgettable experience. I say this because we came by unannounced on a Thursday afternoon and were warmly greeted by the owner, Paul.
After chatting a bit, Blaise came over to introduce himself and invited us to "the cool section of the store" with custom built 'hot rod' and vintage Martins that were truly works of art. He then left us alone and let us hang out, pick on some guitars, and explore the living breathing museum of a musical store. These guys are all good hangs and understand the power of sitting and exploring an instrument on your own time with no stress. Conclusion: Like I said, fantastic store, cool people, and beautiful instruments.

If you need a stringed instrument or play a stringed instrument, prepared to be blown away by Music Villa. The selection is astounding. The Staff are outstanding and are all about professionalism. The vibe is laid back and you feel okay playing 20 guitars over a 3 hour period. I will be driving 3 hours from Great Falls to do all of my gear purchases here.

Music Villa, where to start? Husband goes in to look at all the Martin's and Fender's. Daughter ends up buying an upgraded violin to what she had, which was fine. Customer service is excellent, instrument knowledge is over the top for a smaller town music shop, no offense meant. This place could be in Hollywood or Nashville and be a top shop.
Type of instruments they carry are from novice to professional. New products and vintage collectible rare finds. Such a great store with friendly people. Shout out to Blaise? and Paul. They helped us. We will be back, great shop! Professional shop, but they are not afraid to help the first time musician. Just a great place to find your love of music.

Amazing shop! I've been through Bozeman a bunch but never knew this place. Popped in to get strings and was wowed by the guitar collection and then the top notch customer care. Blue was super helpful and knowledgeable. Rare level of support. Bought a pedal and this strings and some pics. Would've hung out for hours time permitting.

I worked with Chad and the MV team to first talk thru the smallest details of the custom shop Martin I had been looking for. The guitar is the MV Hot Rodded D-18 with a VTS top. We ordered the guitar in August and just last week it landed on my doorstep on the central coast of California. The guitar is everything I had hoped for and more. Well worth the wait.
The customer service from my initial half hour consultation with Chad to delivery of this gorgeous instrument has been superb. It is so clear that these folks know their stuff and clearly have great working relationships with Martin, Gibson, Taylor and others. The folks at Music Villa/Acoustic Letter are highly recommended, regardless of where you live in the country.

This store is for musicians. When I travel I like to search out unique music stores for that next cool purchase for my collection. This is one of my favorites in the country! Great collection of unique guitars and Gibson custom shops. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Probably a little pricey for most, but they don't sell the garbage you see at garage sales, these are the guitars that go up in value!
