Sometimes the best option for our customers is to rent - whether it's an undecided middle school band student or a back yard wedding - we have what you need without spending a lot of money up-front.We have the most experienced instrument repairman in SW Oklahoma at our disposal - from a simple brass instrument clean-up to complete woodwind mechanical overhauls, we can give you the most professional service in a timely manner.
Services
Our goal is to encourage participation in and enjoyment of all forms of music through the sale and promotion of quality musical instrument products and accessories in a friendly atmosphere where the customer is the first priority. Established in 1965, Phillips Music began as a piano-only store, continued with steady expansion into other instruments beginning in the 1980's, when they added Band and Orchestra rentals/sales.
PMEC is the Phillips Music Education Center - the place to find the most innovative approach to music lessons in the area. We pride ourselves in being different from the typical, dated approach to lessons. We embrace technology and utilize it to help students of all ages and abilities to grasp traditional concepts and to push advanced students to the next level in their playing.
We've been doing the B&O rental thing for over 30 years and feel that we've developed a program that meets the needs of parents, students, and educators alike. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns - we value your business! All of our violins, violas, and cellos, along with a limited number of wind instruments (not percussion) are available for LEASE ONLY to local (LPS) students - not lease to own - at only $20 incl.
We have, hands down, the most experienced and skilled Band Instrument technician in Western Oklahoma/North Texas. Tom Layton is a Lawton native and has over 40 years of experience in all facets of brass and woodwind repair. He's also a talented musician - able to test-play his work before delivering the finished instrument.

I am so pleased with my experience at Phillips Music Co.! We visited a few shops in bigger cities before stopping at Phillips in Lawton. The customer service was phenomenal; everyone who worked there was knowledgeable and eager to weigh in and help me out. The prices were on par with online retailers and they gave me a great deal on a guitar and ukelele for my children to get started with guitar. They had a great selection to choose from and if we lived closer, I'd have been signing both children up for lessons there, too! This shop is a great find!

Super chill place.good equipment. I play guitar/keyboards and everything at the store is ready to try out. keyboards and amps are hooked up and ready to go. Shop keepers are really nice too. I tried out a fender electric acoustic guitar today and they were very helpful showing me the ropes of the new edition fender. Grabbing one of their jazzmasters soon

The staff at Phillips Music Company was fantastic. We were in town to visit my son, who had recently graduated Basic Training. The generous staff allowed my son to go into a private piano room and play just as long as as he wanted. We must've been there an hour, and the whole time, the staff was so patient as all 6 of us browsed around the store and waited for my son to play till his heart's content. We are so grateful!

We drove from Wichita Falls; we love this place so much! They have a great selection and can probably order what you need if it's not in stock. The staff are always extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Kenneth helped us today and he was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Both of my teenagers want to start weekly lessons now.

I took my guitar in for a "spa" treatment and to have the pick guard replaced, and while the guitar does sound better now the "spa" treatment was subpar at best. My pick guard wasn't replaced, and I was told they don't make my "cheap" guitars pick guard replacement. I've found hundreds online in stock. I also wait four days before I called back to find out when my guitar would be ready.
The clerk at the front wrote the incorrect information down on my ticket, and I had to clarify when I called what I wanted. The job seemed rushed. When I think "spa" I think of having everything external taken off and cleaned nuts tightened and things cleaned. That wasn't the case here. My second tone knob nut was loose. I also asked to have the rust removed from the output cover and it wasn't. I will never take another instrument there again nor will I allow anyone in my family to do business with them again.

Was in the store a few days ago asking guitar questions and looking for a new one. We got to talking about the cheap one I had and couldn't get it playing very well. I had already had it set up by someone else but just wasn't cutting it. Thank s to David Wilson and Philip's for getting it working much better then I could have hoped and teaching me some things about guitars in general. Highly recommend going here!

After Phil's Guitars closed(Phil Sampson retired), we were left to find a "go to" music store we could feel comfortable with. Everyone is kind and helpful at Phillips and we love dealing with David Jackson the owner. It doesn't hurt they are a Fender dealer among other brands. Our first experience was finding a Stratocaster(70's Vintage Modified) with a maple neck/fingerboard.
Unfortunately they did not have that particular guitar in stock but immediately ordered it and I received it the following week, serviced and set up perfectly! We also love the fact they are VERY involved with their community, students and parents. They have shows demonstrating what their students learn and are just great dealing with their students, parents and new customers that attend.
The entire staff KNOW what they're doing, very friendly and helpful. We can't recommend them enough. Please shop LOCAL, they're a perfect example why you should.

This is a great place if you need some expert advice! I needed to troubleshoot some issues I was having with my amp and guitar. Come to find out, it was an issue with the house I was renting. The ground issue was in the house. David the guitar tech walked me through the whole process and even gave me some of his personal gear to troubleshoot the issue at home. I really enjoy working with professionals and this guy is one! You won't be disappointed.
