Flathead Woodwind & Brass I'm a music store that specializes in Band Instrument Repair, Sales & Rentals along with Orchestral Instrument Sales & Rentals. Please feel free to look around and stop back often as my inventory is continually changing.
Services
This is considered normal maintenance for woodwind instruments. Because of time and use, all woodwinds develop leaks in the pads and go out of adjustment. This process will restore the instrument to its best playing condition. It includes thoroughly inspecting the instrument with leak light or feeler gauge to remove all leaks, reseating all pads, regulating key action, play testing, disinfecting the mouthpiece and cleaning the case. This process should be done annually to keep your instrument functioning properly.
As an authorized Yamaha dealer and professional repair technician who has repaired over 30,000 instruments, I take great pride in offering only the most proven, reliable brands and models of student line instruments for rent. Some of the brand names we use for our used rentals include: Yamaha, Bach, Selmer, Conn (french horns) and Howard Core string instruments.
We offer a wide variety of ukuleles, from playfully colored Diamondheads, to etched artisan Oscar Schmidts. Flathead Woodwind & Brass is pleased to be an authorized Washburn guitar dealer. We currently have acoustic guitars in stock, but are able to special order any Washburn electric guitars, bass guitars, banjos, mandolins or ukeleles.
We are a dealer for Howard Core String Instruments. They have a great line of all sizes and many different models of violins, violas and cellos as well as accessories. These instruments are availalble on a rent-to-own program or outright purchase. We have several models of their student line instruments in stock to fit your needs and budget. You can see what is available at www.howardcore.com.
We carry a complete line of high quality band accessories including mutes, music stands, valve oils, slide grease, instrument stands, reeds and much more. Having the best and most reliable accessories is always our priority. We stock a full line of instrument cases suitable for everyday use. A wide variety of cases are available for special order as well. We have in-stock replacement as well as step-up mouthpieces: Bach trumpet and trombone, Holton french horn, Selmer saxophone and VanDoren clarinet.

Awesome place and service. As someone new to guitar I really appreciate someone breaking down the pros and cons of different types.

Purchase drum stand and pad. Dale and Robin were very helpful, grandson loves it for his tic tok videos. Best part much quieter than banging on household items, YEAH!

Fantastic local repair and sales shop for band instruments and much more. As a local director, I have worked with Dale and staff on and off for about 15 years. I have also lived in several regions around the country and worked with many local and nationwide shops - FH WW & Brass is absolutely top notch. We are blessed to have him in the valley. Do not hesitate to head here for any instrument needs!

On a side note, the Yamaha instruments he supplies are fantastic for any school band student - highly recommended as a beginner or talk to Dale about upgraded models as you continue.

Great little shop! Dale put on a guitar string for us and tuned it for a small fee. Wish they had guitar lessons there. Would totally go there. Definitely will be back in.

High quality assortment of Washburn instruments (Guitars, Ukuleles, Banjos and more.) The workers there are all incredibly friendly and experienced - especially the main old timer who runs the place. Very reasonable prices. I got a brand new Washburn Rover travel guitar there for less than 200 bucks. They have less of a selection than Music 1 Workshop on the other side of town, but are way more trusting of customers around their instruments. (At Music One Workshop, you can only touch some instruments and you have to ask.

Even then they seem to get deeply offended and they'll constantly ask you what you're in the building for if you try to just browse.) Clean, reasonable, friendly, conversational and professional. A gem of a building to have in otherwose downtrodden Evergreen.

Walked into the shop looking for a present for my husband. Sitting on display is a beautiful mandolin. Dale was not only nice enough to listen to me explain why I was buying the instrument but to find something to wrap it in as well. I'm looking forward to shopping here again.

Went in to get an assessment on a used saxophone I bought, and a estimate on Tune-up/repairs. I was only visiting Montana so had to wait to get home for the tune-up, but the estimate was very close. I was very happy with the information they gave.

The finest Band Supply store the Flathead's ever known, largely because of owner and in-house tech Dale Shepard, also an excellent performance musician. This the store the school districts trust with their repairs, so should you. Reed and string prices competitive and convenient. Excellent place to get reasonably priced last minute gifts for your musician--stands, sheet music, fake books, accessories.

Now a Washburn guitar dealer, check out the ultra playable Comfort acoustic electric. Guitars professionally setup and always in tune. Thanks to Dale and family for filling this crucial niche!

Came in for a first time saxaphone for my son. The owners were very friendly & knowledgeable. Fair pricing on rentals. Option to buy after time, and rental credit given with purchase. Exceptional service.
