I rented a trumpet from here for my son during the 21-22 school year. It was easy to sign up and pay online and a rep dropped it off at his school. Recently, something happened to the valves and they picked it up, had it fixed and back to the school in a day! Impressive. I chatted with a rep about returning the trumpet as my son may not be in band next year.
The return was quick and easy and they are even going to pick it up from his school. I love the simplicity of everything and will definitely rent from here again if my son decides to join band again.

My son, a neophyte to the music world, has been drawn into the beautiful, intricate art of learning to play the cello. Although only 9 years old, Adam exhibits the curiosity and passion to learn this regal instrument. His soaring success in a few short months can be attributed to his instructor, Justin, who has the patience, and concern to teach young minds, and he imparts both the physical skills as well as the theory and rationale for everything he teaches, which my information hungry son devours and internalizes. Justin is the reason my son will continue his endeavor to play the cello, when many kids start then get bored and quit musical instruments. Kudos to this fine, accomplished instructor who himself has written books on playing cello as well as played in philharmonic orchestras, and knows the subtleties of teaching this instrument.

Have purchased both a Flugelhorn and Piccolo Trumpet at Kidder Music as well as teaching supplies and methods books. Had excellent service recently deciding on then ordering a Piccolo Trumpet that arrived in one week a had a instant rebate applied. Beth Houlihan was excellent to work with and I can count on the team to take care of any needs I have in the future.

I recently ordered a ton of sheet music for a festival. Every time I called Kidder Music, I was greeted in a pleasant and professional manner. Jamie, the Print Music Manager, was extremely patient with my many questions, calls, and orders. I appreciated his excellent communication and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure I had the music in time.

Great people, there to help! Offered me a lot of helpful information on an old instrument of mine, and went to extra work to fix the broken string when they noticed a little manufacturing problem that made it harder to change the string at no extra cost. Friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Well-priced products, as well.

Very helpful and informative on which brand to purchase, pinpointing the specific differences, and most impressed by the fact that commission wasn't a factor to the salesman. It was more important what was best for a beginner. We were allowed to play the different instruments and brands, as well. A great music store to visit! We will definitely be back!

My son had the chance to be the "manager" of this store in a Peoria a few years back. It was such a great experience. We were given the grand tour and even took some wonderful pictures. The staff was very welcoming and I even found some sheet music for an audition for a reasonable price. They even offer voice lessons. I hope to stop by again soon.

Kidder is a pretty friendly environment and I honestly appreciate that. I can easily get my cello mutes and other accessories for a decent price when I'm in town, which is great help. The only complaint I have that made me put down the review is the quality of the instruments. I play cello and honestly their cellos that I rented were not that of the best quality.
The wood seemed cheap and the bow had synthetic horse hair so the tone quality was not at its best either. For first learning the instrument, the rental program is decent but for someone such as myself who is majoring in performance and is at a higher student level these instruments are no longer friendly. I would recommend to friends who need accessories but instruments are an eh to be honest. Otherwise very thankful I can easily drive up to Kidder for cello items.

I get a lot of my things from there- I play a double reed, and the Kidder reeds are okay for a couple of days, then sometimes they get all wonky. Sometimes they do work for a while- although a while is less than two weeks. They are very expensive. There is not a very good choice of music for oboe- flute books do work, but they have too high of a scale.
In other words, they do not have very good intermediate books. They do have a okay selection of holiday songs in the back for oboe. I did get my oboe from here, and it lasted for a good while. I'm not sure what other people with different instruments would think about Kidder. I think it depends on the instrument you play. So, overall, I find Kidder to be satisfactory but not the best. Other instruments probably think differently, though.
