Clean and polish finish, Tighten and lube hardware. Oil Fingerboard, Clean frets/Clean electronics, Restring & tune. File and wax nut slots/sand saddle slots. I carry D'Addario and Martin strings. All set-ups include this Set-up card that includes all of the critical measurements. Once I know the exact set up that you prefer this card will give us a baseline for future work.

Refrets start at $250 and includes a set up. Add $50 for a new nut which is always recommended. Add $100 for stainless frets. Refrets always include a new nut and set-up. I don't recommend shimming an original nut or filling the slots but I will on a vintage instrument if you want. I can also recreate the look of the original nut if needed.

My journey into guitar repair and restoration began when I was hired as a tuner/adjuster at the Guild Guitar factory in Westerly, RI. I started setting up guitars and basses in the final assembly department and eventually learned most of the tasks in the department; fretwork, set-ups, building and installing harnesses, assembling solid body guitars, buffing finishes, nut cutting and replacement, and more. Six months before Fender took the factory over I left to set up a repair shop at Rons Guitars.
