Have had alot of work done on my guitars here over the years and got some fun ones here as well. This is the place for sharing and obtaining great knowledge on gear and equipment. I stopped by Hanover Strings after finding a guitar on Reverb that Chris (the owner) was selling. I contacted him through Reverb before heading over, and he was upfront and transparent about pricing. When I went to his store, I did not fully expect to pull the trigger on a new guitar. It was to be my first electric guitar, and I had a lot of stupid questions. Chris was patient, kind, knowledgable, and gave me a full run through.

I felt no pressure to buy, it really felt like Chris wanted me to find something I liked. After answering all my questions, he left me alone to play with the guitar. I fell in love and knew I wanted to take it home. I've been totally pleased with my new instrument! I've never had this sort of non-judgemental, no-pressure experience at a music shop before. I will absolutely visit Hanover Strings again when I'm looking for something new. Also, Chris is handling COVID precautions really well. Thank you Chris! Highly recommended!

I went in looking for a bridge pin and strings for our bass and stayed for an hour or more trying all their basses and wandering around looking at all the interesting stuff. The guys were super helpful and not pushy at all. I'm very glad to see the store is still going I'm the same excellent fashion it always has. It's a lovely place to hang. Cozy, comfortable, great instruments, good prices.

I bought a Yamaha digital piano from Hanover Strings at the beginning of the pandemic. They were very courteous and gave me a package comparable to one I could find online at a competitive price. They also handled the very large and heavy instrument with great care in helping me load my car; in normal times they have offered delivery in the past. My wife and kids have all taken to the piano with great enthusiasm; it works perfectly with absolutely no damage.

They were thoughtful enough to throw in a complimentary piano bench in case the piano didn't come with one; it did have one and I returned the bench to them. Thanks, Hanover Strings; I will continue to do business with you as we explore new instruments in the coming years!

These guys are simply the best. They have a great selection of equipment, for beginners to experts. Not only that, they offer rentals on all of their pieces (I believe) and take immense care with repairs. Guitars, mandolins, you name it. This needs to be your first stop for any strumming needs!

None of the knobs on my Fender strat were working, strings were rusted, and a basic service was needed. The knobs were rolling rigidly 360 degrees (which they are not supposed to). Hanover Strings told me there are electronics issues, and it will cost $250; I don't know much about guitars, so I just believed these guys. I gave my guitar to them; they told me that it should be ready in 2-4 days.

I called after 5 days; they hadn't even started working on my guitar! I took back my guitar and took it to a repair shop in Manchester, NH. (Believing Hanover Strings people) I told them that there might be electronics issues and that the knobs are not working. They fixed the knobs right in front of my eyes in a minute! I was so pleasantly surprised.

It all just cost me $50 there when Hanover Strings quoted me $250. And I have been playing my guitar for several days now; it is working great! Bottom line: you are better off driving to a bigger city than use these guys' service.
