Ye Olde Guitar Shoppe

Ye Olde Guitar Shoppe is a special place. It's not a large music store with a guitar section and salesmen trying to get you to buy an expensive Martin or other guitar. It's a comfortable, easy going shop where Paul Wilson, whom I have known since high school in the 1960's, runs a smooth and relaxing business. A very talented guitar player, who since high school years has truly become a master at all types of guitar playing and techniques, Paul is the heart behind this unassuming business.

He has done solo performances and played with groups for special occasions over the years. He knows common and exotic woods that are used to make the fine and varied line of acoustical guitars he sells. He is soft spoken and bighearted, and I am so happy that he is still able and willing to follow his passion in this store and in private lessons and performances.

There is a very wide variety of instruments and accessories in this "store" for the beginner and the professional. It is all carefully picked by Paul or one of his expert staff. I hope Paul chooses to continue to follow his passion as long as he can. This "small box" store in a quiet neighborhood is one of a kind in the central Iowa area! Bravo, Paul. Well deserved.

The best place for guitars! One of those local hole-in-the-walls that you just GOT TO walk in and take a look inside. The owner has got wisdom and experience with guitars. Best to talk if you don't know what you're looking for. Best to talk, even if you do.

This is the place to go for guitars/musical instruments in the Charleston area. These guys will save you money over the big box stores and online sites. The owner is very knowledgeable and extremely nice. I wish that I had discovered this place sooner.

The guys at Ye Olde are awesome. They taught my son to play a Guitar and made it interesting and fun. He still plays and fondly thinks of his former mentors.
