SV - Medium shallow "V" style cup. This is an exceptional "high-velocity" cup for Piccolo trumpet and all upper register work. M - Medium depth with a modified "V" style shape. Our M cup design is the most popular because it works well in all playing situations from jazz to symphonic. MBC - Medium British Cornet to facilitate easier playing in the upper register without losing the full sound.
Trumpet players know this story all too well. To get those screaming high notes, there is a natural tendency to push the mouthpiece HARD against the chops. Often times too hard - to the point where you regret it later. Players know that more mouthpiece pressure can help to support weak or tired chops in order to continue playing.
