Chris takes his Moog gear to another level in his live and studio performances with Incubus. He uses virtually everything Moog produces, including a Voyager, Voyager Rack Mount, Multi-Pedal, Moogerfoogers, and CP-251 to sculpt his sounds. This Changes Everything The Model E1 is the production model of The Moog Guitar.

I'm with Republic Services, the trash hauling company that partners with Moog. The staff, especially Alice, are FANTASTIC to work with. Great response time and very understanding and positive people! They are very considerate of their neighboring businesses and this is so important in a city like Asheville. Great business!

Super neat place to check out! Free tours that explain how the synthesizers came to life and how they work! Lots of different instruments to interact with and plenty of products to purchase. Everyone here was super friendly and took their time to explain a lot of the products with me. They gave me a few demos on a couple of the instruments as well! Overall an we had an amazing visit to the Moog Store! And highly recommend visiting if you are enthusiastic about electronic music.

Cool store. Lots of things set up for people to play with. Surprisingly they don't just sell Moog products and merch. Had the full line of Elektron stuff, and a lot of modular from other companies too. No tours per se, because of COVID, but they did a rundown of Moog history from Theremin to Wendy Carlos and up to the relatively recent era. Also, they have hand sanitizer, masks and little headphone booties. Just wish merch was less pricey! Though $90 for a hoodie and a hat is a bargain compared to the synths I was considering.

If you are an Engineer or a Musician, this is a must-visit for you. This museum is dedicated to Robert Moog, the ingenious mind behind the theremin and the synthesizer. It's a small museum with lots of information about the history of Bob Moog and his accomplishments in the world of sound engineering. I was particularly interested in the Theremin, a musical instrument, that generates a unique sound one would've commonly heard in cartoons or mystery movies - specifically the tune played in the opening credits of the Midsommer Murders series.
The interesting thing about the Theremin is that the sound is generated by electrical signals generated by 2 oscillators but you control the amplitude and frequency by using your hand movements (your body acts as a capacitor) to generate a unique sound. The best thing is, they have Theremins to try out there, and trust me, it's not as easy :)!
They also have some exhibits and animation explaining the various components that go into sound engineering such as oscillators, low and high pass filters etc. which was really cool! And finally you also have the option of using the synthesizer! Overall a great interactive experience - the only suggestions I would give them would be to make it easier for children to understand since it's so cool and I'm sure many kids would be inspired to get into that line of engineering! It's a great setup and reasonable tickets too. I highly recommend atleast a one time visit!

If you are a fan of musical instruments, or electronic music, or technology, or frankly anything related, this is a definite stop if you're in the area. First, there's no cost to come into the store, just in case you were wondering. Second, the staff is extremely helpful and polite, and you can tell they're all musicians. While we didn't take a factory tour, we did play with virtually every synthesizer in the place - with the included headphones, so you're not disturbing everybody - yes and it was quite the treat.
As a synthesizer nerd, it's great to try out these instruments before buying them, as well as just understanding how they work and the types of sound design you can do on them. Lastly. I bought a T-shirt to remember my visit here. Highly recommended.

I had such a wonderful retail experience with the two young people working in the store, but this kind of misogynistic behavior is completely unacceptable. https://ashevilleblade.com/?p=4042 I will no longer purchase any Moog products and encourage others to refrain from supporting Moog until they rectify this clear act of negligence. So heartbreaking when one of your hero companies turns out to be so toxic.

Awesome spot. Zach was super accommodating and gave us a little tour of the show room. He was extremely knowledgeable and had a passion for the product. He also demod a bunch of the instruments for us to show us what they could do and how they work - ended up walking away with a synth to call my own!

We just happened to be driving by when we spotted The Moog store in Asheville. My son is a big fan of music, and had been eyeing the Moog Grandmother for a long time, so we definitely stopped in. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable and answered all my son's questions. They even lent my son a guitar while we were in the store, so he could plug up and try out the different synthesizers. It was fun also to play around with the keyboards.

Stumbled on this unique, informative and educational tour while visiting Asheville with out of state relatives. Learned more than expected and loved the obvious company pride observed as we walked through some of the actual synthesizer construction stations. Their outside wall mural provided perfect photo post, too!

One of the top things that my brother wanted to do while visiting Asheville was visit Moog Music. Since I'm a fan of synth music and kind of scientifically brained, I was pretty pumped as well. Moog Music is a combination store and factory which hosts free tours of their facilities. The factory is named after Bob Moog, one of the earliest founders of the synthesizer.
The tour started in the factory store where there were a number of synths on display. We then went into the factory where we saw the production of synths in action. All the while, we learned a lot about the history of Moog, synths, and the assembly of the instruments. I was really impressed with my entire experience - as much as a synth fan as I am, I never knew of the history and all the mechanics involved in constructing the instrument.
I also need to give it up to the staff. Moog is an employee-owned business and you can tell everyone working there is really dedicated to carrying on Moog's legacy. Overall, if you're into synths, mechanics, or music in general I definitely feel it's worth a stop at Moog. Even if you don't want to do the tour, take some time to explore the shop and play a little tune.

As a part of my wife and I's 15th anniversary be decided to go to Moog and check out all their synthesizers. I feel that this is a layer of Heaven that's not mentioned and any holy text. They gave us a demonstration of the synthesizers which I've never been given before as a rookie. It was nice to see the process from stage one all the way through to where they deliver. There was a time when our tour guide said that famous musicians come in from time to time and recreate their songs on a Moog synthesizer. I would definitely go here again.

The most amazing gift shop, the most amazing tour, the most amazing assembly place. It exceeded every single possible expectation. Paul Gaeta, gave an outstanding tour and the best tutorial on fundamentals of synthesizer that I've ever heard my life. Starting with the Theremin, the Mini-Moog, the journey of Bob Moog and the company. Also a real American made product, with employees that clearly take pride in their work. I just love this business and I want to save my money to get a Moog. My step son love the gift I brought home as well.

ZOMG, we were walking towards green life grocery when I saw the big mural of a keyboard which I thought was cool. Then I realized it was a moog store, which became a realization that this was the factory! The store is awesome, my kids loved playing the Theremin and various synths and drum pads. I got a shirt and was very tempted to buy a Sub 37. Ended up signing up for 10:30 tour the following morning.
My kids 7 & 8 loved it. It's great to see electronics being built in America by people, not machines. What a great surprise to find on vacation. They should promote it more.

Well as a huge fan of Moog Synth this was a blast! And a Mecca for music! The history of rock music changed in the late 60's when the Moog was introduced into popular music. For most it was the use of it on Abbey Road by the Beatles or those crazy Moog synth albums doing Beethoven. Anyway I love Moog synth and actually have a Baby Fatty which I first played here!
At the Moog Music store and factory! I loved that it so hands on and you can play anything. Try your hand (get it) at a Theremin, or many of the Moog Key synth they have for your messing around pleasure! The staff was super nice, and I'm really bummed I missed the tour times cause I would love to do that at some point when I'm back in Ashville! This is a must for any music fan! Or musician.

I'll be back for a tour, but the shop itself if really fun if you're into the Moog gear or just wanting to feel like a musician of sorts. I walked out feeling like I too could have amounted to a talented musician, what with all the gear. Synthesizers are the coolest to play around with, even when you don't really know what you're doing.
You can play EVERY Moog instrument in production in the store, buy a souvenir or just look around the at the sleek design and modern/industrial layout. You ARE able to peek into the production side of the factory from the shop area, but if you're a modern music connoisseur, definitely hook up on their Free Tours [available Monday - Friday 10:30am or 3:30pm OR Contact Moog Store Manager, Paul Gaeta, to Arrange a Tour 828.239.0123 or paul.g@moogmusic.com].

In my opinion, the tour of the factory -- just blocks from the downtown Asheville hot zone -- is a must-do. Just so much to soak in even for the most casual of modern music fans. The tour foreplay is diddling around with Moog gear in the showroom. Much fun. If you can't get a satisfying woop-woop or a wicked synth bass line going, you have zero funk, soul, life, etc. Hell, just shoot for 50s sci-fi soundtrack sounds and be thrilled.
The tour itself will be about 45 minutes and conveys just how unique Moog is in an age of digital, mass produced everything. The synths are still analog, hand-built, hand-tested -- with a remarkable amount of locally-sourced parts, right down to the wood side panels. (Yep, wood. On a synth. In 2014.) The only downside is the odd heat that wells up in the showroom and the extreme likelihood that some EDM poser douche-bag will be part of your tour-group. Thankfully, the Moog folks seem to be used to this threat, to the point of being willing to boot particularly noxious examples of the breed from the tour. You know, the dopes with zero-attention spans and raccoon tails and sandals. Ignore that and Moog on.

Kate S of Seattle had it right, even novices will find a Moog factory tour interesting and informative. I was so impressed by our tour guide, he had an encyclopedic knowledge of both the founder and the generations of products he spawned. Our Seattle daughter gave us the head's up on the tour, she was tuned into the very recent Moog Fest, which I heard was tremendous.
This festival also had a myriad of free concerts, sounds like the Moog enterprise is a generous enterprise. Check it out in downtown asheville, NC. Many innovative upgrades just about to be released, check it out yourself.
