Telford & Sons Violins

Great selection of cellos! I stopped in to have my cello bow re-haired, the gentleman behind the counter was excellent! He let me know my bow still had plenty of life left and instead I spent time playing their lovely selection of cellos! If you think they only do violin, you're missing out!

Great people with long term experience in classical instruments. Very knowledgeable and patient. Upgraded my daughter's violin from student to concert, with full price trade in for the student violin.

Friendly and professional staff! I had my father's violin strings and the bow hair replacement with other adjustments because it is an old Bernadel violin which was left for years! It took them two days to do the work! It is recommended!

Very helpful when my son needed to upgrade his bow. He was able to test out several types. They also helped fit him with a better chin rest and shoulder rest.

Ryan seems to really know the history on violins. He gave an appraisal on my grandfather's violin and what it was going to take to fix it and how much. He also gave me an estimate of how much I could sell it for on Craigslist. All of this was greatly appreciated! Very nice man, nice staff, & clean and professional business.

Took my advanced violinist daughters violin to be repaired when we got it home we realized they had not turned it before it left their facility. I called in to make them aware and was rudely told that the car ride home probably made it out of tune. never heard of that before. on friday my daughter took it to school for orchestra and as she was opening the case the "d" string broke. when I called them to find out what I should do Ryan was rude and it was one excuse after another. I only wanted him to apologize and tell me to bring it back in.

Telford's is good for bow rehairs and minor repairs, but not much else. If you're truly serious about achieving a good instrument, I'd highly suggest making a trip out to Portland or Salt Lake City to explore your options. Even the more expensive instruments in stock had a sort of tinny, scratchy quality that sounded extraordinarily unappealing to any slightly trained ear. But still, I'd always suggest coming here over any general music store in the area (Dunkley's, Dorsey's) for your regular maintenance.

I had my violin repaired here, and they did an exceptional job. I was devastated when I found my violin had soaked up water after coming home from a long work trip. After the work was done at this shop, I couldn't notice a difference from the day I bought it. The staff is always helpful. Thanks again!
